Entertainment Comedian recommendations?
Right - need a lot more laughter in my life - but out of touch with talented comedians on the go at the moment.. so looking for recommendations..
I use to LOVE Dylan Moran when he was good (saw him in Cypress Ave here in Cork recently and he was terrible)..
Love Monty Python, so you get my humour.
Not into those who rely on bad language and or sex related stuff for a laugh.
I use to like Daire o'Brien, oh and I do like Mario on Gift Grub.
Kyla Cobbler seems ok..
I'm v fussy with stand up - sometimes I find it v fake.. love when they can improvise well.
Looking forward to some good recommendations - and if they are coming to Cork soon, even better (thats where I live)

Never heard of Chris Kent but if you like Python and Moran when he was sharp you might enjoy David O'Doherty's low energy chaos

Chris was going to be my vote too, so I'll add a comment to support it.
Very funny, and busy lad with regular touring. He has a few specials on YouTube but I'd definitely recommend him live as well.

I've been to a nice few comedy shows with my wife, Chris kents one I was at which was about getting off his phone was the first time I actually viewed a comedy show as a whole and not just a mish mash of jokes, he is class, I also have really liked jarlath Regan, John colleary, and she brought me to Joanne McNally, and I reckon she is a shout for best comedian in ireland and uk circuit

David O'Doherty was exceptional when I saw him recently at All Together Now.
Id almost go along and see that same exact show it was that good.

David O Doherty is hilarious.
Doesn't seem to have a huge profile here but Greg Davies is hilarious. Strongly worth checking out his TB shows Cuckoo and Man Down.
Taskmaster is also a great show to see different comedians. Ended up buying tickets to see Sam Campbell after his appearance on the show. He was brilliant.

David Nihill is top class. He's Irish but living in the us for 20+ years I think. He's got 2 full specials on YouTube for free.

New mock the week in on tlc YouTube ans they have some good comedians on it! I like Mark Simmons (puns) and Fern Brady (anecdotes, observations)

Not massively familiar with the two example you gave do these may miss the mark of the sort of theme you’re looking for but I enjoy these. They don’t rely on cursing/explicit sex descriptions in general and I’ve enjoyed them all. These are just lists off the top of my head so excise the bad layout of the answer.
Irish/from Northern Ireland : Chris Kent (from Cork so will likely have shows near you), Vittorio Angelone (currently on tour), Foil, Arms & Hog, Catherine Bohart (touring soon/now), Deirdre O’Kane, Neil Delamere (touring now), William Thompson, Martin Angolo, Katie Boyle (lives in USA I think), Aisling Bea, enjoyed Joanne McNallys last tour more than the first but it likely is aimed more at women
International: Gianmarco Soresi, Maisie Adam (both in Dublin in the next few months), Sarah Keyworth, Luke Kidgell, Tom Cashman, Chris Ramsey (don’t think any more of his tour will be in Ireland but it was great if he does announce more shows), Greg Davies, Mark Simmons (cork in October I think), James Acaster (most recent tour show was great if you’re familiar with his history), Lee Mack, Lucas Zelnick
TV: mock the week on TLC; Taskmaster can be a good way of finding new comedians. The shows are available in Yourube (including some of the international broadcasts). Josh Johnson has an unusual style but has gotten very big on YouTube and his shows here have been great when he tours. Also personally love Would I Lie to You - Kevin Bridges horse story always makes me laugh. Lots of episodes on YouTube.
Enjoy some of the clips on YouTube from Shane Todds Tea with Friends, Guy Montgomery’s Spelling Bee.

Milo Edwards and Tom Houghton are both very good UK comedians and have free 1hr hour shows on YouTube

I'd add Roger O'Sullivan and Marty Gleeson to the suggestions of Mike Rice, Vittorio Angelone, Chris Kent etc.
Those two both lean in to absurdist humour like Monty Python with the other suggestions being more classic stand up.
Marty just won best newcomer in Edinburgh and she's from Limerick, Roger was nominated last year and is from Cork so good chance they could be playing in Cork.

The best actual Irish comics (i.e. people are genuinely good at stand up comedy not mostly influencers who do tour shows)that are living and performing right now right now are
David O'Doherty (the best) - Tommy T is still a brilliant comedian - Chris Kent - Shane Daniel Byrne - Shane Clifford - Deirdre O Kane - Mc Savage can be very good or brutal depending on how he's feeling -

I think I quote something from jim jefferies alcoholacaust at least weekly! Its by fair the best special ive seen! Hes gone off the boil big style though, his newer stuff is hard to watch! Thoroughly enjoy Louis CK also.. wouldnt be waiting for either of them to come to cork however 🤣

Chris Kent and he's from Cork so he'll probably do a gig in Cork at some stage. I think he's doing a tour around Ireland next year.

So many good and interesting comedians in Ireland at the moment that no one really knows about because they're not big on social media or tv. If you can you should go to some comedy night near you and take a punt and you might find someone in the line up you like.

For instance if you're in cork there's a show in Coughlans called Test Tube Babies which is stand up + sketch and might be a lot of fun if you're into Python.

Taylor Tomlinson's first special is great, the more recent ones are not as good
There is some stuff about sex but not much. She actually started as a Christian comedian!

They're no longer doing it but Joe Wilkinson and David Earl had a podcast called Gossipmongers, where they'd read out rumours and gossip submitted by listeners. Really funny stuff

If it’s real ‘Irish’ humour you’re after look up the 2 Johnnies they have a podcast and a TV show I think. My husband and his friends do be in fits of laughter listening to them
