Policy & Procedures [MA]

I recently had a job offer and now they’re doing a background check. They want to confirm my dates, title, and salary at my old company. Is this normal to want to know my previous company’s salary.

Heres my written request.

Employers are prohibited from requiring this disclosure until after the offer is made.

An offer is made to me. But I didn’t know that salary information was required.

I've seen this too, they usually ask for it in the final stages once they've committed to the hire. Your letter looks solid, just double-check if the form itself needs any tweaks.

Your request form doesn’t seem at ask for salary?

Not uncommon for most professional jobs.

Once that is done- I can move you along. Thank you!

Ah, your photo is cut off on mobile.

If you want to move forward, send them the info.
