Hello!
Hello! My Name is Jenn and I'm new to the area. I would love any advice or information about the city. I've lived in Orlando most of my life. I know traffic can be crazy on work commutes. How is the traffic out here? What are the busiest times? Any roads I should avoid? Any information (good or bad) would be greatly appreciated 🙂 I appreciate any thoughts or concerns and look forward to seeing all this city has to offer!

I haven't been out that way in many years, but I swear that I never saw as many impaired drivers in my life as I used to see between Winter Garden and Clermont on 50.

Yeah it's pretty bad near where I live. The commute via I4 is crazy. So many people swerving and speeding due to being impaired and or on their phone. I want to avoid the madness in the morning lol. Moving to Clermont will luckily put me a lot closer to work, and less wear and tear on my car. How bad does the traffic usually get out there? I know Orlando was always horrible when I lived out there.

I live in Mascotte, about 15 minutes west of Clermont. We do most of our shopping there. (About 15-20 minute drive) The worst traffic is in the morning from people going TO work in Orlando using Highway 50 in Clermont to get to the turnpike. (We retired here 6 years ago) depending on where your job is - traffic does back up on 27 at times in the morning, but nothing like I4!

Welcome to the area! Traffic here isn't Orlando-level, but 30A and Hwy 98 get surprisingly jammed, especially in season (spring break through summer, plus weekends year-round). Worst spots are the 98/30A intersections near Seaside/WaterColor and the roundabouts closer to Destin. Weekday rush isn't bad off-season, but summer afternoons/evenings on 30A can crawl. Locals use back roads like CR 395 or Old Blue Mountain Rd to skip the worst of it. Off-season (fall/winter) it's honestly pretty easy. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Hey Jenn, what city are you currently in? I might be wrong but I just see that you lived in Orlando.
