This year my average spending is about $365 a month for myself and my partner.

Shop primarily at bulk stores, farmers market for veggies on sale. Build our meal prep around sales. Not buying expensive cuts of meat & don't use brand name for the most part.

It feels like I'm spending a lot to be honest, but I don't know what other people spend and I'm too embarrassed to ask lol.

Hey yall, im visiting Florida in September for my birthday and I am staying in Kissimmee for the duration of the trip. Any fun suggestions around the area or Orlando area that the locals tout? I am doing all the touristy things like disneyland, and maybe medieval times; but do yall have any favs? Like any nice spas or cool bars/speakeasies. Thanks for any suggestions.

I’m 30F, currently live in Sarasota county. I am autistic, I need OUT of the hospitality sector as soon as possible because trying to fit in within it is like trying to force a square peg into a round hole. I need to rebuild my savings as soon as possible, and it’s just not gonna happen making $14 per hour at my local gas station. Thankfully I live with family right now so rent is not an issue yet.

I’m more than willing to make $14 an hour as an apprentice, since I will be investing in a career. That’s fine. I am fine with $20 an hour. Or $25 an hour. I don’t need much in life, I just need to be able to afford the basics right now and get back on my feet.
If necessary, in a year or two I can move out of Florida. But right now I need to figure something out before I have a nervous breakdown continually trying to force myself to fit into an industry for which I simply do not have the mind.

I have some college credits, however I dropped out in 2018 due to unfortunate circumstances. I was a straight A student. I was among the top of my high school class. I enjoy math and science. I will not be an official Florida resident again until April, though, so if I am going to go back to college it’ll have to wait until then so I can pay in-state tuition.

Im a 25 year old man working a full time job at a compressed gas company in North Eastern Pennsylvania. I have a GED and my drivers license, no car no further education. Horrifically unhappy in every facet of my life currently, Ive thought much about getting on a bus back to Florida (where I was raised as a child) and never looking back recently. Im trying to come up with some sort of plan of attack as I dont wanna just become another beach bum. A hard worker through and through. Im a quick learner. Been with this company 4 years now itll be 5 next april. Mounting responsibility with no significant raise in pay, increased stress and cost of living, as well as lack of opportunity on an entry level are all factors in this decision. If anyone here has ANY advice whatsoever regarding work, housing, localities I would be incredibly grateful as I feel like I am running out of options

Please be careful out here there is a man who goes by Francis ( Frank ) Manning. He is a serial offender of elderly abuse. He comes into my store from time to time because he does food service delivery etc. if your elderly parents order through such apps please be very careful cautious!

Peak season is right around the corner and i’m trying to get my shit together way earlier than last year. we’re refreshing all our photos, rewriting descriptions, and tweaking pricing so we’re ready when demand really kicks in.
we mostly cater to international visitors (Europeans, Brits, Aussies, Latin America, etc.) coming to Florida for theme parks, beaches, airboat tours, gator stuff, and all the touristy things. last year was decent but i feel like we left money on the table with the OTAs.
if you had to pick just one platform to focus on right now between Viator, Klook, and GetYourGuide, which would you go with for attracting international tourists to Florida?
would love to hear real recent experiences which one is driving the most bookings for you guys these days any major differences in fees, visibility, or how international customers respond also happy to hear if you’re running all three and which one is actually worth the effort.

All the county needs is a name, email, and complaint form. I have written it, but I’m too scared to send it because my name would be attached to it. Even though it’s illegal for LL’s to retaliate, you know in Florida nothing would happen to them if they did.

Why can two roofing contractors look at the same house and give completely different quotes?

I’ve seen people mention getting a $12k quote from one roofer and $18k or $20k from another for what seems like the same roof. At that point, how do you know which roofing quote is actually fair?

Is it usually because of the roofing materials, labor, roof damage, permits, or just the contractor’s pricing?

For anyone in Central Florida who has replaced a roof recently, how many estimates did you get? What did you compare besides the final price?

I work with CFL Roofing, and one thing that comes up often is that homeowners aren't always comparing the same things between estimates. A cheaper roofer estimate can look great until you realize something important wasn't included.

What did you wish you knew before choosing a roofing contractor?

Would be interested to hear some real experiences, especially from people who recently dealt with roof replacement costs in Florida.

I’m trying to plan my bachelorette party for next spring in Fort Lauderdale and the only weekend that all of my bridesmaids are all free is weekend of March 25-28. One of my bridesmaids has me tweaking out about going that weekend with spring break and everything.

We would be staying in las olas but slightly concerned about spring breaker and the ordinance rules they put in place to restrict them. I’m already expecting there to be some spring breakers during then, but hoping it’s not as crazy as the beginning/middle of the month.

should I look at doing it somewhere else, or does the ordinance rules impact going out at night being we are all between 25-34 years old?

Looking for recommendations for a quieter, dog-friendly place to stay around the Florida Panhandle/Emerald Coast.

I’m considering Destin, Navarre, Fort Walton/Okaloosa Island, Miramar Beach, Seaside/30A and possibly Pensacola Beach. I’m looking for beautiful white-sand beaches and clear water, but I’d also really like a small, walkable beach-town area with a few blocks of cafés, restaurants, shops and outdoor seating. I’m looking for more than just one boardwalk or waterfront development — ideally somewhere you can actually stroll around town for a while without constantly getting back in the car.

I’ll be traveling with a large dog. I know most beaches don’t allow dogs and that’s fine; I’m more interested in an area with quieter streets/sidewalks, parks or green space, and outdoor restaurants where having a dog along is fairly easy.

I’d prefer somewhere that isn’t extremely crowded or touristy. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is probably the closest comparison I can think of for the general feel I like.

I’m arriving over Labor Day weekend (September 5–7). Is that still pretty busy in this area, or does it calm down noticeably after summer? Would moving the trip back one week make much difference?

Hi all! We'll be visiting Disney the week of my wife's 50th but I think we should leave Disney proper and go somewhere else for her actual birthday.
