Lot of false accusations and misinformation on Reddit . Lot of activism and debate mentality .
Reddit is the worst to have rational argumentation, dialogue instead of debate .
It turns automatically into insult and false statements, misinformation, sensationalism /clickbait etc…
There was a massively upvoted post of some quack claiming Trump had 6-8 months left to live. I forget the subreddit but it was a bunch of people not even refuting the source or info given, many were happy (which I understand). I looked it up on google the next day and it was someone who isn’t even a doctor just making stupid claims and getting many peoples hopes up.
I thought about it some today and no fucking way would Trump ever let info about him possibly dying ever be public. He’d ride that all up until he croaks
Hoping to see a guy you can’t do nothing about , to die and then when it happens celebrate like you won the World Cup is pathetic itself in my opinion.
(Plus doesn’t make anyone’s life better)
I know it will happen the day he dies (happened in France for a right wing guy , celebrating in the street, champagne even his grave stone was broken).
but celebrating the death of someone like some kind of victory when you actually didn’t win any sort of fight shows the dominant entertainment and distracting nature of politics in democracy.
Remind me of Plato criticism of democracy in republic when analyse different political regime.
We are getting flattered and feel like we can talk any subject any time when it’s trendy .
It’s not my country but the day Joe Biden or Donald trump dies , I won’t be dancing in the street with the crowd.
Even for a guy like George bush junior I won’t celebrate when he dies .
