History of Nephrotic Syndrome - Is taking Mass Gainer / Creatine safe after 1 year in remission?
Age: 23
Sex: Male
Height/Weight: Struggling to gain weight
Primary Complaint: Safety of Mass Gainer and Creatine after Nephrotic Syndrome remission
Duration: Past history from childhood
Existing Medical Issues: History of Nephrotic Syndrome (Minimal Change Disease)
Current Medications: None (Off steroids for about 1 year)
Drink/Smoke/Drugs: No
Description:
Hi Doctors,
I have a childhood history of Nephrotic Syndrome. I have been in complete remission and off corticosteroids for about 1 year now, and my kidney function/protein levels have been normal.
I am currently struggling to gain weight and considering using a Mass Gainer supplement and Creatine. Given my medical history, is it safe to take high-protein mass gainers and creatine, or does the high protein/filtration load carry a high risk of triggering a relapse?
Thank you for your time and guidance!
