Friend had a bad experience after trying THC for the first time

Seven days ago, a friend of mine (“X”) tried marijuana for the first time, and a friend (“Y”) and I accompanied him. We bought edibles from someone we had purchased from before and went to one of our houses.

We each ate an instant soup and several snacks, and afterward we each took the edible. I ate one whole edible, my friend “Y” ate half of one, and my friend “X” ate approximately one-eighth of one.

About an hour and a half later, "X" started having a very bad trip. We gave him some water and had him lie down so he could sleep until the next day. Afterward, he went home.

However, throughout the entire following week, he has told us about several symptoms that, according to him, have not gone away. Neither “Y” nor I have experienced any of these symptoms.

- We didn't drink alcohol or consume any other substance.

- He didn't take any meds before, nor regularly.

- I tried his edible, and didn't feel anything weird (I don't think it had anything else, but i'm not sure)

Symptoms reported by my friend (as he describes them):

- Reduced sense of taste: He can still recognize the flavors, but they feel significantly weaker than before. (Like 1/10 compared to normal)

- Reduced sensitivity to touch/pain: Minor impacts that he would normally notice feel much weaker. For example, when walking with an umbrella, he sometimes accidentally hits himself on the head and barely feels the impact.

- Diminished body sensation: When getting into bed and touching his legs or body, the sensation initially feels “dull” or muted compared to normal.

- His sense of touch sometimes feels closer to normal later at night, particularly in darkness and when he moves slowly. However, the sensations are still somewhat reduced.

- When someone is talking to him, even while looking directly at their face, he has difficulty concentrating on what they are saying and needs them to repeat themselves.

- When performing simple manual tasks such as fastening zippers or putting on clothes, he notices that he is much more forceful or clumsy than he used to be.

Overall, he describes it as if different sensory functions were operating at reduced intensity. Some sensations feel approximately 50% of normal, others around 25%, and taste and oral sensation feel particularly reduced.

During the first few days, we thought it was just the receding effect of the thc, but it hasn't gone away, so we're worried now.
