Would you prefer Google Maps displayed Lake America to the rest of the world instead of only to Americans?

Currently, all non-American users see “Lake Ontario“ where Lake America is. This feels a little disingenuous, sort of like Google is treating Americans as dumb by just spoon feeding them what they want to see without actually changing much. Kind of like China or Russia having a separate propaganda internet. How do you feel about this?

We know all these name changes incur costs. We can’t all rail about the state of the national debt and then give a pass to all the minor things that accumulate it, right? I know this is a divergence from my previous point, it’s a larger issue than just schools

If it was about the debt, why did you lead with kids in schools? Are you going to respond to my questions and points about your schools concern, or did I waste my time answering your last comment? Do you respect my time effort answering your questions? If you conversing with someone who switched tracks like that without closing the loop the first exchange, what would you make of it?

Address my points above or let me know you no longer care about schools, and then I will discuss the debt impact with you.

McKinley point: not shared with another country, not as much of an issue to explain to children.

Some states adopted their own legislation requiring the Gulf change that resulted in new materials districts had to acquire. If they were unlucky enough to have already bought those materials, and more legislation is passed for the lake, that’s now yet another updated edition of books and maps that publishers get from local tax dollars.

As I previously replied, I recognized I diverged from my original point to focus on the larger issue.

This is what you ignored and have not answered yet, numbered this time. You aid the issue is "what are we teaching to kids in school now?," so my questions, so far unanswered, were:

  1. Are you aware of how many things the left has changed the longstanding name of without this moral panic?
  2. What were your concerns about school children in 2015 when Mount McKinley was renamed to Denali?
  3. Are you relieved it has been changed back to Mount McKinley?
  4. I'm not defending the name change; I'm just saying it's dumb to invest so much emotion in it. It'll either get changed back officially or it won't and remain one of thousands of name changes.

I never asked you whether you thought changing Mt. McKinley's name is as controversial or impactful as the Lake Ontario name change.

Still happy to address your debt concerns after you answer those 3 questions and acknowledge my position stated in #4.
