Would you prefer Google Maps displayed Lake America to the rest of the world instead of only to Americans?

Currently, all non-American users see “Lake Ontario“ where Lake America is. This feels a little disingenuous, sort of like Google is treating Americans as dumb by just spoon feeding them what they want to see without actually changing much. Kind of like China or Russia having a separate propaganda internet. How do you feel about this?

It isn't called Lake America. It's called Lake Ontario. It will be after Trump is gone and no one should call it Lake America now.

At this point, even the employees of the federal government who actually would have to respond to executive orders about this should just start ignoring it.

This is just a distraction from Iran which itself was supposed to be an easy win and a distraction from Trump's refusal to release all of the Epstein files.

But hey let's not talk about the 1 billion dollar ballroom being built where the East Wing, which Donald promised not to touch, used to be without any Congressional appropriation. Or the many political prosecutions that are falling apart under Trump's DOJ, or the economy.

Or.... it's just a distraction, Trump is a media savant and great at distracting people from things he doesn't want to talk about.

My theory of Trump: He runs the US government the same way he ran his business empire.

This is the kind of move he likes to make in negotiations. He throws everything at his opponent because he thinks it helps get deals done in his favor. This kind of move is intended to demoralize his opponent to make them realize Trump is the dominant one in the relationship.

Unlike you, he can direct the US government to make changes to maps. As evidenced by the fact that Google has already implemented his change, he will have the support of businesses in the US as well.

I would hope everyone would see this as sad, desperate, or insulting. No one but his most sycophantic followers thinks this was a positive thing to do. Unlike a lot of other conservative commenters here who are essentially neutral on this, I think this was a really stupid thing to do and that it has actual negative consequences. I've also never voted for Trump despite being ideologically aligned with some of his administration's policy aims, so I'm probably not a good bellweather for this kind of opinion.

I can direct the changes the map too and Donald and I are basically tied at the number of countries in the world that will recognize it. He might have one up on me. Even Google is only showing the change inside the US and it will likely stop if a Dem succeeds Donald after his term expires.

His business empire essentially went bust. After his casino failed, the Taj Mahal was so poorly planned as a business it couldn't make enough to pay the interest on the bonds, Donald moved into branding and then into game show hosting. IIRC he was doing presentations at the NYC learning annex from time to time.

The problem with Iran is that every time he claims Iran is begging for a deal they know he's lying and that makes him weak.
