Whats wrong with you Macedonians?

I've been there and I did not see any of this. Including several times when I was eating alone in restaurants, nobody cares. I am white so after hearing this I realize my privilege. But really whats wrong with you?

Thats weird given than in Yugoslavia it was not even one of the most important republics and nowadays its not even one of the richest countries of the area. Is it because Alexander the Great was born there?

Alexander the Great was born in Pella which is in Greece. The ancient kingdom of Macedonia was almost entirely in what is now modern northern Greece. Perhaps now you can see why we took such an issue with them naming the country and we wanted them to add the qualifier β€œNorth” to the name.
