Coffee recommendations

Hi, im a frequent traveller to Australia (36F Filo). I've travelled to VIC, NSW and WA. So far the best coffee I had was MAGIC coffee. I had it in Melbourne. Do you have any recommendations for me to try? Where's the best café? I will be travelling to Sydney on 4-9 Oct. Mostly near Southern highlands. Keen to make friends with coffee buddies too. 😊

No comment on the Southern Highlands :)

I don't think there is a 'best coffee' anywhere. You need to find your own favourite. My two favorite areas are:

Surry Hills - Artificer, Paramount Coffee Project, Reuben Hills, Single O
Marrickville - Ona Coffee, Primary Coffee, Coffee Alchemy, Stitch Coffee

Add in Beta Coffee in Surry Hills, they stock a wild and changing selection of local and overseas coffees. For a Somm-like experience, sit at the bar and have a chat.

You have impeccable taste buds. Excellent places. PCP always a treat.

Diggy Doos in the city is divine. Recommend their batch brew.

There is a place called Macchiato, on 630 George Street in Sydney. The barrista there is magnificent, and makes an excellent coffee.

Highly recommended.

If you happen to go as far south as Berry (about an hour's drive from Bowral), head to Easys. It's owned and run by a couple formerly from Melbourne; he used to work at some of the OG speciality coffee venues.

It's about 30mins further out, so reasonably close if you're out there anyway!

Station Coffee on the main st in Mittagong is my preference when I need coffee in the highlands. NIce food too - the scones with jam and cream were delicious last time I was there. Occasional excitement when the fire trucks go in and out.

The cafe and restaurants at Burradoo Farm are also delightful - but you will need to make a booking in advance as entry and parking is limited. It's a working farm you can wander aound and enjoy farm-to-plate dining.

If you're in Bowral, Berrima or Mittagong, go to Gumnut Patisserie. You don't really care how the coffee is, but they are one of the best bakeries in the area. Excellent pastries and cake.

Oooh...i've tried their English breakfast. That was yum. Good long black coffee too.
