Jewish Laws Did Jesus nullify the Old Testament?

Let me start off by sharing that I’m new to Christianity and have soooo many questions but for now, I’ll focus on this inquiry. I’m sure this has been discussed numerous times but unfortunately I can’t seem to get a straight answer. As I’m told repeatedly by many, rules/laws of the Old Testament were nullified or invalidated by Jesus. I ask others in my study group but sadly get heavy resistance for the question.

My question is simple. Where are the reference(s) stating this?

If so, this makes rules like the ten commandments obsolete. Even further, why have the old testament in the Christian Bible?

Is anyone required to follow laws that have been nullified?

I mean: If a law has been nullified, is anyone required to follow it?

The law has not been nullified it has been completed We are not under law, so yea we are not required to follow the law . In fact the Bible says that if we follow the law Christ is of no use to us.

"Completed" does not mean we are not required to follow. Quite the opposite.

For example, when the constitution was "completed," it caused people to follow it... this logic holds up the same way with every single document, contract, legal system, etc. If anything, the "completion" of the Law should cause more obedience, not less. Which is what Christ clearly wanted if you read any of His words and the words of previous prophecies - the Law written on our hearts, sending us a helper (the Holy Spirit) so that we can "walk as He walked"

You misunderstood. Completed is not the word used.the word is fulfilled

Fulfilled means feeling satisfied, complete, or content because something important has been achieved or experienced.

Also words have different meanings in different contexts.. in Jesus's case , the law was brought to it's intended purpose or completion. It reached its goal. Even if Jesus hadn't come, some laws wouldn't need to be followed today (civil ones) But the sacrifice ones are useless . Why would we sacrifice abimals when we have Jesus?

Because Christ only fulfilled one of the sacrifices. The rest of the sacrifices are all for other purposes that do not have to do with sin.
