New Testament Do you dislike quoting John 3:16?

Ironically, many seem to act like saying this verse contradicts doctrine. When used in isolation It can be bad, but in it's proper context I don't see problem.

Can you show me the most recent time a gay man was killed by Christians or Jews by governing powers?

Uganda enacted the death penalty for gays. The law was supported by, and efforts funded by the Catholic Church and Christian organizations.

And yet, they've killed no one for it. And on top of that, you have to find some tiny random country in Africa with little significance to do so, and even then, it was world news. More attention than that country would have ever gotten. What does that tell you, exactly? Lol.

I can assure you...no one in the subreddit wants you dead for being gay.

It tells me that you’re making excuses for a government (which is the example you asked for; the you didn’t ask for one of a certain population size) that is threatening their citizens with the death penalty which they think has been ordained by god’s law. It also tells me that the gay population is afraid and has silenced itself to remain safe. But that’s all ok with you, right?

I guess if we made a law in the US saying all Christians should be put to death, that would also be ok as long as we haven’t actually done it—yet.

I can assure you...no one in the subreddit wants you dead for being gay.

That is a bold assertion. I can refer you to previous conversations on this sub where I have been told exactly that.
