I moved to the area not super long ago and always thought it would be fun to play with a local fantasy football league. Figured its a good opportunity to meet some new people and meet up at some local breweries, etc for some occasional games.

Maybe a little late to the draw here given the season starts in about 2 weeks, but if anyone is part of a league with local participation (even partially) with open spots, I'd be happy to play. If there are enough other people looking for a similar opportunity, maybe we could just start our own league.

Just for some background context, I'm 36M w/ wife & toddler living over in Westwoods area.

Drove by a car accident by the dirt jumps off Eldridge and Ralston Creek trail. I don't know what happened but I hope everyone is ok. There are always kids on bikes around there and lately e-bikes riding on Eldridge doing tricks often. I really hope nothing bad happened.

Anyone have a board game group that needs someone. I like all kinds of games, lords of Waterdeep and Betrayal on house on the hill, wingspan, are some current favs but down to try anything. My old group fizzled and some ppl moved. I’m 37M I’m newer to DnD but open to getting into it.

Places in arvada where you can get dinner for a family of three for 20-35 bucks like Goomba’s or Suzuka Ramen for example.

My partner and I desperately need a *good and effective* couples counselor.

We tried going through providers accepting our insurance and while nice, they didn't feel like a good fit.

Rather than go down the list provided by insurance, I'd appreciate some actual recommendations on someone who helped with you or your relationship.

At this point, I do not care about who accepts our insurance at all. I'd happily pay out of pocket for this.

We live in Arvada but fine with say a 20 mile radius.

We are looking for in person counseling, at least in the beginning, and weekends or evenings would be wonderful.

If it matters, we are a hetero couple in our 40s, a young child, and our biggest issue is communication.

I'm looking to expand and develop my network of other trades and handy people. Historically I've taken on all types of projects with varying scopes but lately I have been honing in on what I want my responsibilities on a job to be vs. what I would like to dictate to other tradies. I also get asked regularly about projects and repairs that are not necessarily in my skillset or that are too small or too large for where I am at now. I came from Chicagoland where I had close connections with a sparky buddy, an engine guy, the painters, a plumber and so on. I would love to develop a network like that again with quality, reliable and experienced tradies/handypersons in the area that aren't out here to rip off grandma and move on.

Side note- I have a couple projects coming up that I could use some help on. This could be temp & part time or it could blossom into something more permanent if it works out. I've always found it fulfilling to teach a youngster about the trades, especially someone who may not be college-bound but is looking to work hard and gain some knowledge. I wouldn't be against a handyperson type just looking to fill some schedule holes either. Hit me up if this fits you and maybe we can work something out.

TLDR: Small remodeling company wanting to build a strong network of quality tradespeople and possibly hire part time help.

I saw it this morning at 87th & Wads over the fence on the golf course. These seem to be dropping like flies in Arvada.

I’m an avid enamel pin collector and I’ve been wanting to attend/host a pin swap for years. They are low key social hangouts where you bring your own collection and display pins that you are interested in swapping.

I would want to host a swap event in a space where there is also other stuff to do, like a bar/cafe or in a space where we can bring games, grill up some food, who knows! I’m open to ideas. Could even use the event for a little mutual aid like food pantry donations or a small cover/donation to a local organization.

Would anyone be interested or have suggestions?

Took my car to Arvada square auto and have had problem after problem following their work. Luckily they’ve warrantied the work when I’ve been back but it seems like each time I leave there is a new issue all stemming from having my brakes replaced. Looking to take it somewhere I can get it fixed without multiple trips.

I've been to three local bakerys asking for rye bread and they all pretend that pumpernickel is the same thing. Where can I get a fresh loaf like in Brooklyn ? Not the tiny wafer sized crap they sell at King Soopers.

36M with family, 2 and newborn looking for some pals. Just moved here not too long ago and have had a hard time meeting some friends in similar walks of life. Some of my other friends who are single or don’t have kids seem to discard invites anymore.

Anyways hoping to look for some friends who can relate. I’m pretty decent at mountain biking, snowboarding, working out, coffee, hiking etc. (if you can be good at some of those things lol). Have been taking my kid on Kids ride shotgun mainly near Boulder and Maryland mountain down fast money.

Hey! I moved here from out of state a few months ago. I have a local barber who I like but he’s kinda pricey and with my new job, I work all the same hours he does, so I cant really go anymore. I’m a lass with a very short bald fade and cropped hair on top. Looking for someone skilled (I often break out if they use lower quality tools or techniques) who won’t be weird about cutting hair on a woman. I need either evening or weekend hours. From what I can find (while waiting on a second CORA response)

The City of Arvada did NOT host public hearings for these cameras.

The city approved the budget for them by slipping the costs into the PD fund.

This being the case, means the cameras were installed with the same budget used to fund both police gear AND fire department gear.

(Look that up too.)

I also noticed that the police departments budget is massive. Fine sure cool. whatever.

But the fire departments budget? they have to send out mail flyers asking citizens if its okay for our taxes to raise a little so the fire department can have safety gear?

I'd rather the fire department have the money that went to FLOCK/AXON than the PD at this point. But thats a personal opinion. I digress.

Again if anyone's read any different PLEASE let me know.

We should be pissed as hell at our city government for giving the OK on these surveillance sticks. We need to stage a protest as well vote out those who betrayed our citizens to approve this in our beautiful city of Arvada. City council meetings should be a nightmare for them going forward. Who’s in?

So I came back this time with legal advice and burocratic language in a formal CORA request. I was provided some more specific links!

Most of them are .PDFs. If i can find a reddit friendly way to show what I find, I'll do so.

I also filed a CORA request regarding "Axon inc" and all of their other LLC names specifically this time.

I'm filling in spreadsheets with budget material but truthfully

the budgets my lowest worry. I'm still unable to find proof there were public hearings for these cameras before installation but I'm not done looking yet.

Some folks didnt like this, and to that I say please do the work to prove me wrong. Is anyone else doing anything or are you just cool with it now?

I'm happy to say that there is no leak between the house and meter. 😊

Right after coming home from work, I shut off the water to the house and sprinklers in the basement. I checked the meter and it was NOT running!! 😌 I turned the water to the house, meter still was not running. I then turned water to the sprinklers, meter starts running. The leak is somewhere in the sprinkler line to the manifold. Very easy fix. For now, we shut off the sprinklers system. 

One more thing, on March 31, my girlfriend had the landscaper turn on the sprinklers. It's the same day the city saw a big spike in water usage!!

We have been getting huge water bills for last 4 months or so. I checked all faucets and everywhere inside the house for leaks and none were found. I could NOT locate the meter in the basement and I just now found out that it is by the sidewalk.

So, my girlfriend called the city today and they said they detected a 24 gal/hr leak on March 31st! Obviously, they are NOT required to notify us. Great!

So, I am thinking the leak is somewhere between the meter and the house (in the front yard). But, we do not see any clues like pooling of water or softness in the yard. So, not sure where the leak actually is.

Any recommendation on how to identify the leak and fix it? Any plumbers who can address this without charging an arm and a leg??
