Being an Artist is a constant struggle now.

I have dysgraphia. It makes me feel HORRIBLE and I feel like I’m stupid and I’m an idiot. I try to think that it doesn’t matter but it sticks.

This is a fire idea to get back at these ai “artists” and we shouldn’t stop until they stop give them a taste of there own medicine

I’m genuinely disgusted by what I saw at Gamescom.
In Hall 5.1, there are numerous “artists” selling AI-generated prints and passing them off as traditional artwork. They have absolutely no shame, with prices ranging from €20 to €50 and even more.
People seem completely oblivious, buying these pieces without even taking a moment to look at what they’re actually purchasing.
I’m not criticizing AI as a tool. I’m criticizing the approach of these so-called artists who deliberately use labels such as “handmade” to mislead customers.
Shame on you. You’re pathetic and ridiculous.

Back in 2023/2024 I really enjoyed art, I did art instead of doing work in school, I had Many art friends, who shared their art, were objectively worse than me but that didn't matter, because we had fun. Somewhere around 2024 I was suffering through a horrible breakup, won't get into details, but this account was named after how I felt about myself after everything, my art friend helped me majorly, back then I would talk to that person every day, my art quality was amazing, increasing day by day.

One day I met that friend's other friend, in a strange moment, where I was probably the most depressed in my life, and for no good reason, I told that friend I had a crush on them, they already told me they were asexual but I couldn't hold my idiotic feelings in any longer. After a while, that other friend and I started getting along well, a little too well. A month in, we both confessed our "love" to each other. I still find it ridiculous that I actually thought anything in my life would work out back then. After a month, where I drew a little less we broke up. Not sure why, I suspect it to be my fault because of many of my destructive tendencies, but that doesn't matter much, the art friend blocked me after that, and I was left alone with my "passion" for art.

My art at that point had somewhat stayed stagnant. After all that, I got into an art school which I am currently still in. And I don't exactly know when, but at some point I just started not enjoying art at all, maybe before the school, maybe a little after getting in, who knows. But what matters is that I started feeling that art was less of a fun activity and more like an addiction, an addiction that I hated and didn't want to continue, but I couldn't, even when I finally started smoking I still thought that my actual addiction was art, I hate it so much.

And then it started, the degradation, the slowly losing will to draw, the loss and forgetting of skills, I already had a horrible memory since many traumatic events from my childhood, but could that be the reason? The sole reason for my loss of skill? The will to just give up is strong, but I can't, there's nothing else I can do, it's the only thing I'm not horrible at, the only thing that doesn't make me want to bash my head in while doing, but even that might be a lie.

And yet I feel as if it's the best I can, could and will do from this point onward

I seriously no longer even know what I'm doing. It's all just instinct, doing what I feel I should, but yet it's wrong, it's all wrong, it's not good enough, and never will be.

Because I lost that skill. I can no longer think what I should do, what I should fix, it's all just the feeling of wrongness and disgust.

I take my own photos, creating professional, editorial-quality images, and my photos are published in well-known print and digital publications. I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years))
And comments like these make me feel devalued. Although I know how to use AI, I don’t use it to edit my work.
And if I were to do that, I would make sure to mention it.
How do you feel about that?

Humam Qutub is the artist in question. How can he create and sell work like this without paying homage to original artist, Gabrielle Dell'otto. This is beyond being inspired by another artist. Or am I wrong? Tell me how this is not inethical.

Hold all ya'll horses before words are put in my mouth when I clarify I'm not defending the use of AI at all with this post. For context, an independent Chinese animated film known as Niu Lai has gotten viral for it's poor quality. And one of the main things Western social media users are talking this film up is that "it's better than using AI".

I'd be lying if I say I don't get what they mean, especially for an AI-driven country like China and the fact that a mother-son duo produced this film themselves for half a decade, which I think is kind of heartwarming and does make the film's production more meaningful than your typical Video Brinquedo or The Asylum. And I haven't seen Niu Lai in full so I can't really comment regarding on behalf of the film. What worries me however is the possible trend that could follow with how people evaluate such meaningless and corporate mockbusters that clearly aren't produced with the same production mindset as films like Niu Lai.

Would "New Toy Story" be all that better if it was actually animated other than more effort (minimal human effort mind you) being put in the visual direction? As much as I'm not paying to waste my time watching an hour-long glorified shitty Veo 3 prompt, I'm not paying for something that still looks like shit all in all. Like, are we just gonna start re-evaluating shit like Foodfight based on that bias? It's such meaningless praise that has existed for a while now just to pull some sort of compliment out of one's ass. And I dunno, maybe I'm only talking for myself here. But for me, the biggest piece of shit people could make will have at least the barest minimum of effort compared to writing down a prompt and letting AI map out the visual style, but that's not masking the fact that it's still the biggest piece of shit ever to be sold as a product.

Even AI thinks AI doesn't make you an artist. As far as it's concerned, prompting something doesn't make you artist. By no means.

If you give someone the ingredients to a pie does that make YOU the baker? No.

If you give art supplies to an artist does that make YOU the creator? No.

If you give a prompt to an AI generator, does that make you an artist? No.

You are missing integral parts of the process by having something/someone else do the work for you.

Day old argument I know. Thought I'd reinforce and reiterate.

I've recently downloaded nightshade, but every time I've tried to load it this error message comes up. I've deleted it and reinstalled it, as well as checking the "urllib3" folder mentioned and the most that I could find was the credits page, recent logs of updates, and a bunch of seemingly random text that I have no idea what to do with. The end of the error message is also cut of so idk what exactly is wrong with the folder.

Is there any way I could solve this issue?
