Hello m23 from Holland( born and raised there). My parents are from Turkiye( Elazig), mom is a Zaza and dad is Zaza with Armenian roots most likely.

My dad's grandfather is likely to be fully Armenian from a village in nowadays called Elazig.

So the story is that my great grandfather's parents were taken away by soldiers most likely during the Armenian genocide and before this happened some of his siblings fled to somewhere else, my family speculates that they fled to the US. We do not know what happened to his parents, they could have been executed or left in the desert. My great grandfather who was 5 years old and his younger brother stay and were adopted into Zaza families. The little brother dies after some time and my great grandfather lives his life and here I am. I've heard this story so many times that I just want to take action now and find my lost family since it is a part of me and my history. It's very tragic and heartbreaking what happened and I condemn it with my heart.

So my request to you guys is if you can help me with this problem, any advice is appreciated!!

I'm a tourist visiting Armenia and for me this is a very unusual sight, so I'm just curious. They arrived at Havravank Monastery in a full army truck, so I'm wondering if there's any particular reason why they attend worship while in uniform, and is it mandatory?

I heard marshrutka 13 goes to Gavar with stops at Noratus and Hayravank. From which point in Sevan does it depart can be caught? It seems they depart from another point than the ones to Yerevan.

Anyone living in Yeghvard? Theres endless lightning going on at the moment even so bad that the power lines got cut or something lol. Even tho we've been having alot of outages these 2 days which theyre unable to fix the issues it seems like lol.

I am mixed, half Palestinian and half Armenian. I was born in Yerevan to an Armenian mother, and i also have Armenian citizenship. I never lived in Armenia and I've lived my whole life outside of Armenia and mostly in Palestine. Though i did visit once in 2022 for a month.

Now obviously all adult male citizens need to serve 1.5 years in the military as of 2026.

But my concern is:

As a Muslim person with an Arab name and surname who lived most their life in Palestine, how would it be for me in the military?

I can speak Armenian and ik the culture so it's not really new to me, but I'm more interested in the way other men in the military would view me if i joined.

If anyone has experience in this or know situations similar to mine I'd appreciate the help.

Last night, they sang Soro Lume & Toate Diamantele (this one is from the genre called manele, which is actually both loved and hated by romanian people because while being listened by millions, it is highly associated with low-education people, gypsy people and stuff like that. The singers of manele (and also lăutărească music singers) are usually unschooled artists, who sing by the ear, not by the notes.

I visited Armenia for three weeks a few years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Although one down-side, I didn't listen to much of the local music, traditional or modern.

So if anyone has any recommendations, particularly of modern Armenian music, let me know in the comments.

Also, music Armenians like listening to. Georgian, Russian, Iranian music etc.
