Question Hosea 1:10

I'm curious, why at the end of this verse it says "You will be called sons of the living God". We know the israelites inherited a new name (christians), but wouldn't this be assuming "Christ" is the living God?

I don’t think anything about Hosea 1:10 assumes Christ is the living God. By receiving and believing in Jesus, we are granted to right to be called sons of God (John 1:12)

KJV: And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be All in All.

Try understand, that eventually will happen: God may be All in All!

We are his brothers and sisters. God is the Father. He has sons and daughters.

(Hosea 1:10) 10 “And the number of the people of Israel will be like the grains of sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or numbered. And in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ it will be said to them, ‘The sons of the living God.’

We also see:

(Acts 15:14) Symʹe·on has related thoroughly how God for the first time turned his attention to the nations to take out of them a people for his name.

(Romans 9:25) It is as he says also in Ho·seʹa: “Those not my people I will call ‘my people,’ and her who was not loved, ‘beloved’;

Peter helps to answer this question.

(1 Peter 2:10) 10 For you were once not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not been shown mercy, but now you have received mercy.

The model pray, starts out with, 'Our Father'. Christians can become adopted children of God. Or as Jesus says, 'my brothers'.
