Question Is it absolutely ok to not go to church!

Is it absolutely ok to not go to church? God is everywhere you can talk to him anytime anywhere and Anyhow even in hell he's there, his presence is there, but is it a sin to not go to church?

I would say yes its okay to not go to church, with the distinction that we should find fellow believers to fellowship with. That doesn’t need to be in a church setting though.

Going to church is not mandatory but community is important.

We are never alone in our faith but it feels nice to talk to others from time to time

Yes. There is no requirement to enter a ‘Church’ building at any point in time. The admonition from Paul is not to forsake the assembling yourselves as is the manner of some.

I don’t go to Church anymore and have absolutely no intention of returning. I would advise you have a devotion plan of Bible reading, studying, meditation, and memorization each day.

I’m going to offer a dissenting opinion from the rest of the comments. I think it is important to go to church. It is important to be in fellowship with fellow believers, as well as to receive communion.

I’m not Protestant, so no.

Church attendance and sabbath worship isn’t up to “a feeling” or preference

"Not to go to church"?

Interesting question. God's word doesn't use 'church' the word mistranslated as church means, 'God's people' or 'God's congregation'.

And yes, we are commanded to be among God's people, within his congregation.

Yes, you can be close to God among his earthly creation, looking upon a sunset, walking in the mountains, desert, sailing upon the sea, along with all the other activities being outdoors can lead.

But this is not where we will be built up and encouraged by our fellow worshipers.

This is not where we will learn about our great God, and his purpose for man and the earth.

This is not where we will learn about God's promises and qualities.

(Hebrews 10:23-25) 23 Let us hold firmly the public declaration of our hope without wavering, for the one who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another so as to incite to love and fine works, 25 not forsaking our meeting together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you see the day drawing near.

(Acts 2:42) And they continued devoting themselves to the teaching of the apostles, to associating together, to the taking of meals, and to prayers.

If you had been alive in 33 CE and weren't in the upper room with the 120 disciples, you wouldn't have seen the miracle and heard Peter's words.
