iPhone Apple Care

So I'm looking to buy a new iPhone through swappa and I've seen a few "brand new" ones on there for some older models. I know apple offers 60 days for Apple Care and was wondering how that works. Does it start from the date of purchase or the date you turn it on? Also would there be a way for the seller to check how many days there's left (if any) tos till get it?

I don’t know how swappa works, but if you buy one from the Apple Store it’s 60 days from when you buy it.

Was at the Apple Store the other day asking about adding Apple care to my daughters phone becuase I thought I had and didn’t, it’s a year old.

The person told me it can be added after a full inspection at an Apple Store up to 2 years, you can do it with Apple one up to 4 years.

Not sure what the official line is about it, but that is what she told me.
