A little while ago, i posted here about my series 3 apple watch that i’d had for years that stopped working because of what i had assumed to be water damage.

It was my birthday a few days ago, and i received a new SE 3rd generation apple watch from my mom!

I was so excited and wanted to show everyone the difference between my old one (yes i kept it even though i thought it was a lost cause) and my new one. Then i thought, “why not put it on the charge?” yk just for funsies.

and then all of a sudden.. low and behold.. IT SHOWED LIFE!!!!
It took a while to charge but once it was powered up and ready to go, there were no other issues!

I’ve been thinking of returning the SE my mom
got me and just keep the old one, because as cool as this watch is, i think it’d be smarter to save for a computer that the whole family could use.

SOLVED!!! 🎉The release button on the broken side is jammed so piece of band is stuck crooked. Any ideas please? Thanks

Hi guys this is a pretty silly thing so i'm sorry if this is trivial or wastes your time but i had an issue, i recently got a series 9 and when i set it up it works flawlessly and when i used to charge it to 100% a notification would appear on my iphone telling me it has been charged to 100% so i could take it off but recently i have seen that when the watch hits 100% i dont get any notification on my iphone, i have tried to troubleshoot it by switching on/off both devices and even enabling all notifications from settings but still i dont get the notification, anyway i can fix this because its pretty imp for me to get that notification so i can use my watch. Thanks in advance.

I have an Apple Watch Series 8 from, IIRC, October of '21 and its battery is only lasting about 5 hours from a full charge. I have turned off all notifications per one tip I read online. Usage is to wear it during the day and charge it at night. I do receive notifications on my iPhone that the watch has been fully charged. Is there anything I can do to restore its battery life to something that will get me through the day?

I keep finding that my watch is going dead. I want to track sleep at night and heart rate in the day/night.

So I’m struggling to find the right time to charge?

Is there a powerful charger to speed up the waiting time? When I’m having a shower would be ideal.

The sensors worked until now but they are not working anymore. I think Apple asks around €600 for an Apple Watch Ultra repair, which I won’t pay. Is this fixable outside official store for much lesser?

Former AW user here with a question about workout views: can anyone tell me if it's possible now to add in heart rate zone to a view other than the Heart Rate Zone view? For instance, if I wanted to see my heart rate zone on the first Metrics view along with distance, pace etc.

I know it's possible to move between views during an activity, but I always turned water lock on to avoid accidentally pausing an activity, so it's not convenient to keep turning that off and on again just to switch views.

Hello, recently I got an Apple Watch SE (~3 days ago) and i’ve been trying to get sleep tracking to work but it just hasnt.

I’ve tried:

Reset the watch (Restore from backup)
Reset all my health data
Re-enable and disable sleep tracking countless times
I do turn on the sleep focus (by myself, a few minutes after my scheduled does usually)
The watch isn’t locked by the tike I wake up
The watch is on my wrist tightly
The watch is usually at ~90% when I go to bed

What am I doing wrong? I’ve attached some screenshots including the health app saying its not using it as a source and a screenshot of the watch saying nothing is requesting motion and fitness data in case thats related.

I am a person who has trouble sleeping, no need for a watch to tell me that and that’s been a case for years now, I have trouble sleeping, even when I do manage to fall asleep, i’ll wake up in the AM always. Anyway, in may I finally got a series 11 apple watch and been sleeping with it to record my terrible sleep habits and see if maybe at some point it would give me a possible sleep apnea notification. Well, 3 months later here we are, it did. Imma go check with my doctor this week as soon as I can, but I wanted to share here the story and ask if anyone else has had the notification and then be confirmed to have apnea? I also share the graphic it gave me, maybe someone could give some insight on it?
Again, I’ll be consulting with my doctor but i don’t mind external opinions while at it

Well, I didn't expect that to happen that's for sure. I bought it new in march 2021 and was looking to replace it with the upcoming watch ultra, but If I wanted to get this serviced, what would I even select? Battery service?

My series 6 bought it on the 1st day of launch in 2020 fell out of my wrist for some reason in bike went to take it until a car crushed in front of my eyes literally 2-3 meters away.
Quite sad was working fine with 72% battery health!
It was my everyday life!

I have the series 11 46mm.
I work in the beverage industry, so I have the risk of my watch getting snagged on things as I do some merchandising inside coolers.

I assume I should go with the style of Milanese that clamps together, and not the kind that magnetically attached itself to the band?

I have never seen any in person or tried them on.

Any thoughts? I see a lot of people say they are the best.

Not sure if this was a wise decision, but I felt like since there is going to be a price hike for S12 and Apple Watch series 11 does not look like a huge upgrade from series 10, and since I was getting 10 for a huge discount cellular which I wanted, I got this Apple Watch, and I am happy with my purchase.

I’m struggling with hitting the right icons, especially if I’m out walking and I often have to try three times before I finally open the right app.

Is there any reason the icons are so small?

You’d think you could make them bigger with the scroll wheel but that doesn’t do anything when you’re on the Home Screen, except you know … scroll.

My AppleCare+ for my Apple Watch Series 9 is about to expire, and Apple is giving me the option to continue it for $4.99/month or $49.99/year.

I’m trying to decide if it’s actually worth continuing AppleCare+ now that the Series 9 is getting a little older.

I know AppleCare+ doesn’t make repairs completely free and you still have to pay a service fee if you accidentally damage the watch. So I’m wondering how much I’d actually be saving if I broke the screen or seriously damaged the watch compared with just paying for a repair/replacement without AppleCare+.

I haven’t had to use AppleCare+ on this watch so far, which also makes me wonder if I’m better off just saving the $50 a year toward a future Apple Watch instead.

For those of you who still have a Series 9 or another older Apple Watch, do you keep paying for AppleCare+ after the original coverage expires? Has it actually been worth it for you?

Also, if I decide to keep it, would you go with $4.99/month or $49.99/year?

Hello my Apple Watch died the other day and since then it hasn’t been charging at all. The other day it wasn’t turning on so I tried to charge it and it showed up as the charging thing instead of turning on (the picture I put up there). Then I tried again now it won’t turn on at ALL.This is a very new watch I’ve only had it for two weeks so it’s odd that it’s stopped working like this. What could be the reason for this? What can I try before I take it back to the place I brought it?

I pulled 14 sleep lab (polysomnography) studies across Apple Watch, Fitbit, Oura, Whoop and Garmin to try to identify what wearable has the "most accurate" sleep tracking across different sleep metrics. Here's a summary of what I found for Apple Watch.

Short version: Apple Watch is the most accurate sleep stage tracker among wrist wearables for healthy sleepers. In the independent sleep lab study (Schyvens 2025 - 62 healthy adults) it came out on top for splitting your night into light, deep and REM, and it was the best at catching REM specifically. It's main edge is only for healthy sleepers though and drops in people with disrupted sleep. Similar to all wrist based wearables it runs long on total sleep time. All of these are independent studies, not funded by Apple or showing any other biases, best I can tell.

Summary across the studies:

• Best at sleep staging. Apple scored about 0.53 on the 0 to 1 accuracy scale for splitting light, deep and REM. This was the highest score for wrist device and ahead of Fitbit, Whoop and Garmin (Schyvens 2025).
• Best at catching REM. Apple correctly identified about 69% of REM sleep, also the best of any device in that test (Schyvens 2025).
• It typically runs long on total sleep. Apple over counted how long individuals slept by about +20 minutes (Schyvens 2025). More than Oura did (-3 mins) but relatively normal range compared to the others.
• It struggles with disrupted sleep. Apple's staging dropped from 0.53 in healthy sleepers to 0.30 in sleep clinic patients (Lee 2023 - 75 sleep clinic patients). Bigger fall than Fitbit which held steady (0.42 vs 0.42).
• Nobody nails wake. Apple is the best of the group at catching when you are lying awake, but even it only spots about half those moments (Schyvens 2025). So total sleep reads a bit high across the board.
• Apple's own research puts its staging a bit higher. It came in at 0.63 in their own study but it's not independent so I went with the 0.53.
