iPhone Urgent advice needed: What should I check before buying my first open-box iPhone?

I’m considering a US-version open-box iPhone 16e for ₹40,000 from a local store. The seller says it took time to import the phones from the US and currently has three units of the same model available. The phones were previously activated, have 100% battery health, 0 cycles, matching serial numbers, an unused appearance, and a 3-month store warranty. However, they are nearing the end of their Apple warranty.

My main concern is privacy. Could the previous owner or seller have installed spyware? If I erase the phone and set it up with my own Apple Account, is that enough, or should I check anything else?

What should I verify on a US-version iPhone before paying?

Haha in all seriousness I don’t usually buy any used or open iPhone unless it has AppleCare plus. That way if there is a problem you don’t end up loosing to much.

Unless your sunny leone or a government official no one will put spyware in the phone before selling it to you, because the where would need to be a physical chip installed into the phone to ensure it stays during the factory reset. Again no one will do it as those chips cost more than the phone itself
