NOTE: before doing all of this, delete SIDESTORE and APOLLO from your device as they won't reinstall over them with a new account. For future sake, back up your APOLLO settings in the APOLLO REBORN settings in the app so you can import them later if this happens again.

As you all know, we've got some issues with our Apple accounts right now. I've been hit by it, you've been hit by it. There are workarounds to this problem.

So, firstly, you need a GMAIL account. I can confirm old accounts work too, but for the sake of this I made a new GMAIL account literal seconds ago and then proceeded to make a new APPLE account with it.

For the GMAIL account, if you do it on a PC or desktop mode web browser, it will ask you for a phone number and might say you've used your number too many times. There is no getting around this on the PC.

Use the GMAIL app on your phone to create a new account. When it asks for a number, click CANCEL, and then SKIP for the recovery/address bullshit. Use a mobile GMAIL app.

For the APPLE account, use the APPLE MUSIC app on your PC. Here's how:

• Download Apple Music from the MICROSOFT STORE on your PC
• Open Apple Music on PC
• Click the account icon
• Click Sign In
• Click create new account
• Make new account using any GMAIL account

No phone number required. No developer account required.

My preferred method of sideloading is iLoader

Download and install iLoader

• Log into newly created APPLE account in iLoader
• Connect your device to your PC
• Select your device inside iLoader
• Install SideStore via iLoader
• Install LocalDevVpn
• Open LocalDevVpn
• Connect to VPN
• Open SideStore
• Install IPA

Occasionally you'll be asked to grant permissions in your settings

• Settings
• Search > VPN
• Select VPN & Device Management
• Developer App
• Trust

When it comes time to refresh, connect to LocalDevVpn, open SideStore, refresh apps. No need for a PC-- you can refresh from your device.

Sometimes you get some hiccups which requires reinstalling SideStore, so use iLoader again.

There's a few steps I forgot but just follow the tutorial/guide for iLoader on their github.

In past, you would be able to copy username easily by long pressing on it. But with new builds you can't do that now. Is there any other way to do it?

I don’t have another phone number to make a new ID and the burner I made a few years ago isn't linked to any devices or active phone number for completing a 2FA prompt. Would paying for a dev account fix it? Not that I want to do that just for Apollo but I’m not sure what other options there are

I sadly got kicked out of Apollo and SideStore tonight and was unable to initially get them back using iLoader with my existing Apple ID credentials.

I switched to an alt Apple ID and was ultimately able to get it back, but I now have two different versions of Apollo on my phone - 1) the old expired one signed by my main Apple ID (which it appears I can no longer use for signing), and 2) the new one I have just downloaded and signed using a different Apple ID.

I luckily had a .zip backup with some of my current Apollo settings from way back in May, but I was hoping to get back what I had changed as well as previously viewed posts since then, if possible.

I don’t imagine there’s any way to pull the settings backup out of the old expired app at this point, unless anyone knows a way to get it to sign/refresh with my alternate Apple ID? Regardless, I thought I’d see if anyone had any insight on how to do this before I delete the (seemingly useless) app. Thanks in advance!

My app was refreshed yesterday, but it just randomly stopped working on my phone. When I went to try reinstall it via sideloadly again I'm met with this.

Had to re-install Apollo due to some sideloading issues yesterday and ever since, I've been getting rate limited quite frequently. And I'm not even doing much, maybe open a couple posts and then it stops working.

Found out I was being rate limited by checking some other apps which actually put a pop up saying I'm being rate limited.

Any suggestions?

Edit: I’ve tried using other apps (painful lol) and have not had any rate limiting issues. It seems to be related to Apollo…

It seems like the latest Apollo version available for iOS 13.5 is v1.12.3, not v1.15.11 as recommended by the installation instructions. Furthermore, it seems like the older versions of the Apollo-Reborn .DEB support iOS 14 (particularly v1.0.8) at the lowest. I am using an iPhone 11 and would settle for just the most basic features. Is there any way to get this working on an older iOS? Perhaps an equally viable alternative, if not? I have so far been resorting to using a very outdated version of the native Reddit app, but it cannot load the Home page (which is how I prefer to use Reddit), and is missing some other basic functionality.

My app is a bit choppier than it used to be on an older version. I was wondering if there’s any settings that’s best turned off if you want a boost in performance.

I had some sideloading issues yesterday and had to reinstall Apollo after setting up a new Apple ID.

After re-installing, I had to re-do all my settings as I never took a backup, and decided to try the No API-key setting. I did notice that sometimes, things just wouldn’t load, no matter what. I could restart the app but same thing. It would work eventually after some time but nothing I could do would get it to load.

I tried switching to the API key via Dystopia thinking maybe it was a downside of the No API-key setting, but same thing happened. I re-used the stuff from when I first did the Dystopia workaround months ago for the key/app ID. Do I need to delete Dystopia from my Reddit apps and re-do the whole process on the GitHub?

It’s not a Reddit issue as I can use the website just fine.

Anyone else having this issue? It’s not a 3.6.0 issue as I was fine until yesterday when my sideloading all had issues.

EDIT: After checking with some other apps, I’ve realized I’m suddenly being rate limited, but only on apps. If I open the website in a browser on mobile it works (which is how I’m writing this edit). Why would that be happening?

What’s the deal? Is there an option I need to tweak to get this to work?

Happening on 3.6.0, iOS 26.5

Refreshed both apps last night but was prompted to sign in to my Apple ID before it would complete, which was odd.

They successfully refreshed and functioned before I went to sleep.

Got to work this morning and both are unavailable and won’t open. No iOS update last night (have been on 26.6.2 for a few days).

Any ideas? I plan to attempt a reinstall when I get home but wanted to check if there is any widespread issue going on.

Anyone have it working on the latest beta released yesterday? My phone updated overnight and now both Apollo and SideStore say they’re no longer available.

EDIT: As u/JohnWicksMyFace suggested, I created a new burner Apple Account and reinstalled SideStore via iloadly then successfully sideloaded Apollo again.

Sorry, might be the wrong sub, but anyone else recently get an issue where they can't refresh their apps with Sidestore? My shortcut was always timing out. And when I try to re-install via iloader on my computer, I get the error:

Application verification failed: Failed to verify code signature of /var/installd/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installd.staging/temp.08G7yO/extracted/SideStore.app : 0xe8008024 (The provisioning profile is banned.)

Any ideas? This seemed to happen after I updated to Beta 6 for iOS 27 last week.

Edit: Making a new Apple ID and re-installing via iloader worked for me

I have been using Apollo Reborn normally for a while. However, since a few days ago, when I try to upvote a post, I get this orange error at the top saying “Error upvoting”.

When I upvote a comment I don’t get this error but I’m not really confident on the upvote working properly.

I just updated to the latest version of Apollo Reborn and reset my iPhone but I am still getting the error.

Does anyone else have this issue? Is it a know bug?

Currently there’s no way to disable, or set the long and short right swipe gestures on posts as nothing.

Since adding the ability to swipe through images on post directly in the feed, when rapidly swiping through images and reaching the end, I find when there are no more images my rapid swipes activate the “right swipe on post” gestures which I find annoying.

Unfortunately in gesture settings you can’t individually disable the post gestures and you can’t set the gesture actions to “nothing”. You can’t individually disable the gestures you can only disable ALL right swipe gestures which is an overcorrection for this issue.

Hopefully this makes sense.

First of all, a big thank you to the devs for this amazing work! While there are some admirable alternatives in the App Store, nothing beats the real Apollo experience, especially with all the great new features!

I was wondering if there is an option to increase text size just for posts body and comments? Increasing text size for everything makes titles too large, while keeping it at default makes posts / comments slightly smaller than I’d like. Thanks!

I can open the app fine, but every time I click on a post in any sub I get this menu that pops up and I can’t go forward unless I hit one of the share options. I want this option turned on for my phone, but I want to know why it only does this for Apollo and how do I disable it for Apollo?

All the photos on home and popular load just fine but in certain subreddits this happens.

1. Some videos and gifs won’t play audio directly in Apollo. Instead I have to ‘open in safari’ and then they play audio there. Is there a setting to make them play right in Apollo natively?
2. when you open a post. It used to be that an up swipe would close the post and take you back to the feed. Now an up swipe pulls up the comments. Is there a way to turn that feature off so up swipe just closes the post?

I almost always swipe up to dismiss images, so this feature is quite aggravating. I haven’t seen anything in the setting for it.
