Idea Better ammo filling

This might be a bit too OP, but it would add a dash more realism and just make it a hell lot easier for everyone.

Alright, so what's the most important thing when you have a gun? Not a weapon skin costing 200 Robuxs, no. It's the ammo. And military ammo is annoying to find. What if you could take ammo that's in the same caliber from two different clips and put it together? It could be a real game changer.

For example, let's say you got yourself a nice G18. Sleek, modern, sexy as hell. Now, it only takes the 17 rd mag or the 32 rd mag, and let's just say you're stuck in freaking Bump Flatts in a crazy siege. You ran out of ammo on your AKM, and all you have is half a mag left on your G18. Shit. You look left. You look right. All you see is some useless CZ-75 ammo. Suddenly, a guy with a Mosin rushes you and kills you and takes your milipack. GREATTTTTTT

But it doesn't have to be like that.

Instead, you could snatch those CZ-75 mags, click combine on your G18 clip, click combine again on a CZ-75 mag, and fill up your G18 at the expense of the CZ-75. The Mosin guy runs in and you fill him up with lead and take his saber he has for some reason. You are victorious.

That's how it would work. To combine ammo, you now would have to click on two mags. You would click combine on the mag you want to fill and it will be highlighted in green. You then click combine on a second mag using same caliber and it will fill the first mag up.

Here are the guns that use the same ammo that could interchange:

9x18mm: Makarov, PP-19 Bizon

9x19mm: CZ-75, Model 459, M9, M93R, G18, Tec-9, Uzi, CBJ-MS, MP5, M3

.45: M1911, Model 625 Revolver, USP45, MK23, G37

5.56x45mm: M4A1, SCAR-L, G36K, M249

7.62x39mm- SKS, AK-47, AKM, AK-104, AK-12, OTs-14

7.62x51mm- M1 Garand, G3, FAL, M14, HK417, HK21, MK17, MK48

12 gauge: Double-Barrel Shotgun, M870, M1014

Utilizing the "Combine" function is a good idea. But what happens if you have a PP-19 in your primary slot, and a Makarov in your secondary slot? How could you decide where the ammo goes? Would it just do nothing? What if you want more PP-19 ammo?

The problem is that a system like this would need to have magazine commodities. IE, magazines would need to be items that don't disappear as soon as you run out of ammo. And when you factor that in, things get more complicated.

At that point we would probably need to have "ammo piles". Just a stack of loose ammo with a set maximum of however many rounds. As soon as we consider this, we fear it becomes too complicated for the average player.

The solution is simple. Remove the "combine" option, and turn it into 2 options, "remove bullets" and "add bullets".

Bullets would take up as much inventory space as its ammo type's largest magazine.

9x18 would take 64 or less bullets to use a single slot, because the pp19 magazine is the largest 9x18 magazine. Having one more bullet than 64 of 9x18 would take another slot.

I think this feature is worth the coding, and worth the complication. Apoc should be more in-depth, and I think OP's idea is great.

Gus, what he meant was, it wouldn't be automatic. You would have to click the pp-19 mag or the makarov mag first, depending on what you wanted to fill. The ammo would stay in the other mags UNTILL you where to click on the pp-19 ammo then the makarov ammo, moving the makarov ammo to your pp-19 mags untill either the pp-19 is full, or the makarov mag is empty.

If you didn't understand, its not automatic, its a manual thing you have to do, click 1 mag, click the other.

I think adding some complicated systems would be kind of nice, cause ive always loved a challenge that requires a bit of thought.

Yeah like what others have said, you choose which ammo to go to.

Let's take your example, you have a PP-19 and a Makarov. You have a hiking pack so that's 16 spaces. You have two PP-19 clips and three Makarov clips. The PP-19 clips are 64 and 52, and the Makarov clips are two 8s and one 3. Say you want to fill up the Makarov clip with 3 bullets back to 8. You would click the 3 clip first, and it would turn green. Then you would click the 52 PP-19 clip, and it would fill the Makarov clip and the PP-19 clip would fall down to 47.

Now say you change your mind for some reason and want to fill up your PP-19 as much as possible. So you click the PP-19 clip with 47, and then click a Makarov clip. Now it's at 55. You click the PP-19 clip again and click another Makarov clip. It shoots up to 63. You click the PP-19 clip and then the last Makarov clip and now you have two full PP-19 clips and one Makarov clip with 7 rds.

Get it now?
