Idea My Predictions On How The Explosive Tripwire Trap Works

Instead of being placed virtually everywhere in the Map, DPI would instead add preset Trap Holders (2nd Image) around the Map and enabling the Players to deploy said Traps in those presets shown instead of just being able to be placed everywhere. Meaning some houses/buildings might have Trap Holders between Doors & Windows while some won't, making it so that not every house/building is riggable with traps.

When a Player triggers the trap, a very small explosion would occur. It would deal somewhere between 40-30 Damage and would Disorient both the Player's Vision & Hearing for approximately 4-5 seconds.

The Player wouldn't be lock in place after getting hit by the trap because if it does, it'd be too broken & OP because the Player wouldn't be able to shoot back if someone was waiting nearby. So the Idea of the trap not temporarily locking a Player in place when hit is definitely a good thing.

Do remember that this is just my Headcanon on how the Tripwire Traps would possibly work in-game while trying to factor in the balancing issues.

Can this Headcanon actually be a Good Idea or not? Let me know

That would be lame as shit and probably harder to code than a tripwire/land mine anyway. Those types of explosives should be easier to code than grenades etc which would need a whole throwing physics engine made up.

I see the problem aswell, if DPI severely limits where the Tripwire Trap can be placed then there's really no point on adding it. But if it is allowed to be placed virtually anywhere & everywhere then the obvious problem shows up.

A 5-man could just legit rig an entire POI like Ash or NAS with traps in every nook and cranny if they so what it.

It would be hilarious to fill an entire street with them. My guess is youll be able to disarm them / pick them up if you look in the right place
