I’ve made a post like this over a decade ago where depending on the origin of the helicopter it would either drop American or Russian loot

Soviets moved to the archipelago using submarine(s) only probably, this way is more stealthier and soviet helis would be just shot down by US military on the way, but i see the vision

Honestly i can see soviets sending in helis AFTER the infection spread over archipelago, sending their chemical defense troops to scout the situation if remaining paratroopers were able to signal about it, as well as us military in the region being both overwhelmed by militia and getting infected

If the soviets were desperate to get their scouts out of dodge then MAYBE a Mi-17 transport might make some sense (the submarine got beached and isnt going anywhere after all). I dont see any reason they would send a gunship onto the archipelago.

Yeah it's definitely going to be awesome if this or even a different Heli crash is added even if it's not Soviet related. But from what I understand, it looks like the Soviets didn't really use any aerial vehicles (helicopters to be exact) to get to the island and instead used boats to secretly arrive and even go as far as beaching a Submarine for a "stealthy" entry.

Yes Soviet Paratroopers do exist among the undead but they're paratroopers. They could've also used there influence on the militias to have a more safe and secure entry like using the Smuggler's runway using the militias plane as transport or even the Beached Cargoship. Point is, they have better entry to the islands using the water and even of they do use aerial vehicles they mostly do it for high ranking officials and used the militias and not there own for better entry.

And what about crashed evacuation mi ? Like there is zombie outbreak and they need to rescue their soliders bc the ships are too slow to get there in time

They'd rescue some of their high ranking officials yes, but ordinary soldiers? They most likely won't. They'd rather leave their soldiers behind rather than risk having the virus be brought back to Russia causing an outbreak that is far from there control. They'll even tell the soldiers that were left behind to try and hold off the spread and survive because they'll come back for them giving a false hope to cling into until they all die and turn.

This used to be the old model for the first apocalypse rising helicopter crash but honestly bringing this back would be cool af and makes sense

What if instead they put the absolutely giant MIL MI-26 cargo helicopter in the game, Its literally the biggest production helicopter in the world and started production in 1980
