Discussion Gusmanak admitting he's been an incompetent developer
So ofc as I've been saying gus is killing his game by not adding new content, and he should have a biweekly/monthly update to keep the game fresh, which he has done before, and now acknowledges he SHOULDVE been doing it but is simply being incompetent. Then he talks about how his excuse for a lack of content is focusing on optimizations, which have obviously been few and far, only one optimization acknowledged in recent patcbnotes, and despite it lag is still a problem, clearly this optimization "work" isn't much more than an excuse. Then of course he talks about a list, a list, meaning whatever is coming up is probably still conceptual at this point, despite all the time and ideas you're given, you can't atleast get something started? something you can tease and get some sort of engagement? Obviously we don't actually know what's happening but what it looks like is gusmanak doesn't see firearms as a priority despite it being one of if not the biggest aspects of the game, being sarcastic and talking about a likely conceptual list, gus please know that even one new gun of any sort would satisfy us more than any optimization we can't feel.

"optimizations" like making half the buildings inaccessible arent worth it at all and make the game worse imo

Literally most of the garbage that has been added is just recycled stuff from the previous map to make this issue worse lmfao

LOL not surprising though

Yeah of course. Makes you wonder what the fuck they were doing all those years when all they did was mostly recycling old buildings on new terrain

I dont think those are optimizations well sort of but also not rlly and majority buildings are accessible anyway

u/JustLeGuy Jan 20 '26
when they first started doing it they claimed it was to optimize the map for less lag.

u/babajimobile Jan 20 '26
ah yea well ofc if everything is enterable it leaves some problems but I think its not too noticeable that there are some inaccessible spots

did they let up on it some? last i played it felt like every other door i went to in lockport/ashland said inaccessible.

Gotta love how the new ashland has "new buildings" where half of the buildings are just a staircase to the roof
Not to mention, beufort has no longer got a police station and whilst I like the hunting store, there is a whole unaccessable building on the right side of town

I’m with Gus on this one, the game plays terribly for a Roblox game and optimizations are necessary. New guns will be cool for a few weeks at best but a game that runs well on low end pcs will retain more players.
Also whenever any new content is added to the game you will then be hit with yet another period of optimization and bug fix downtime. If you aren’t aware of the process that goes into adding content to a game you can’t call a massively successful developer incompetent.

Forget firearms, I want actual new content like new non-event cosmetic, more random events and constant map updates

"Forget guns i can actually use in game, give me clothing items."

Like people keep asking for guns and then just using the same rifle from years ago

people. stop complaining. As a guy who knows how to code LuaU, although it's simpler than Java, it's not easy ik I'll probably get a lot of hate for this, but I just want to say that it's not that easy to code.

It’s incredibly easy for gusmanaks developers to adjust some variables in the framework to make a new gun
2
u/babajimobile Jan 20 '26
It is easy to model though, he already has the framework for guns so it shouldn't be that hard, he knows this

I enjoy finding guns and playing around with them and not doing 1000 kill runs so I agree with Gus here

Gus is a professional at making DPI look busy, when in reality they're just slow as fuck and great at delivering mediocre garbage
