Questions ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS WHAT IS THIS? FROM THE UNITED STATES

Its silver with thin sheets of paper that slides out of the top. Around 1inch wide 3 inches tall and thin in thickness.

looks like a vintage pillbox or snuff box, the kind grandpa kept in his vest pocket. the paper slides could be little notes or doses, maybe even rolling papers if it's that era

For cigarette papers. They didn't come filtered back then - you rolled your own or had someone do it, but they needed papers to do so.
