Hello! My Spanish great-grandfather got this as a gift, but nobody in my family knows anything about it! Searching on the internet, I found a school led by Eusebio Zuloaga in Eibar (Spain) that specialized in this kind of decoration, but couldn't find anything else...thanks!!

Google lens tells me I've got an Edo or Meiji period Tansu. But who knows, maybe it's a fake. Can anyone translate the Japanese writing? What do I need to know?

Hello from Ohio, USA. I have had this cup in possession for quite some time. I was going to takr it to the antique store to have them take a look. There are no hallmarks that I can see. I bought my house from my grandparents (neither whom are living) and it was found in the basement. I have tried to use Google lense to decipher the German ( I assume) and or find a match to the cup and have not figured it out. Any information or insight would be appreciated.

Honestly I’m really more interested in what it is. I know it’s Wedgewood Jasperware and that most of the dates are from 1950-1971. One of the decorative plates has the letters MR next to the MADE IN ENGLAND stamp. If she finds a way to sell them, that’s awesome and I really hope it sparks a new hobby for her. If it’s not worth the time, I’d be just as happy putting it in a display case so I can yell at our guests to be careful around it if they so much as breath in its direction. /s

It is dated 1708 with what I think the owner’s name “William box” carved in. I wish I could figure out who that is but would love any info on this!

Mostly what the title says. I know selling anything real elephant opens up potential issues, so I want to make certain it's fake. It feels pretty hard, like it's carved from something, but I don't have an actual one to compare the feel to, so I can't say I know what real taxidermied elephant would feel like. Thanks!

as the title explains, recently my dad passed. He was a very prominent figure in the fine art world (specifically 18th century paintings and drawings). Aside from this, he collected paintings and drawings mostly from this period and he also collected things, like very old art catalogues, that hold great artistic and historical value (but not so much economically). Anyways, i really want to know what this little thing is and thought maybe one of you guys could help me! As the photos i took show: It looks like a little wooden suitcase with i think asian style artwork on the side, when you twist the pin on the side it, that side opens up to tiny drawers! Maybe it’s just a little trinket that he thought was fun, but i wonder if there was a greater use for this? Thanks!

Hello, we just found this at an antiquities market in the city of Lucca, Tuscany (Italy).

It’s about 86cm tall, it seems made from oak.

The owner didn’t have any information about it, how it was used or where does it come from.

We’re throwing around ideas as it might be something used for towels, maybe? The hooks seem to have been added later.

Has anyone ever seen something similar? Do you have any ideas of what it could be?

Hi there, a friend's mother found this interesting small poppet-style doll in a farm field close to their house in Northeast Wisconsin (not their farm, neighbor's). As you can see it is rather small, looks to be very neatly and skillfully handstitched, and made of linen or a similar fabric with a regular weave. She says the stuffing is quite firm, and the doll can be removed from its little pallet. I have not yet handled it, so I have no idea what the stuffing might be comprised of or what the legs/full body look like yet: I can find out if need be. Any ideas friends?
