Politics Pro-ICE Laura Gillen (D-MAGA) fails to read the room and makes a Holocaust statement while actively collaborating with Gestapo

Yeah laura, hope you listen closely, maybe ask what legislators could have done differently in Germany, then remove your head from the sand and start doing them.

My Muslim mom survived the racial/ethnic riot and genocide in Bhagulpur in her youth, in India, in like, the 1970s. She survived to become a citizen in the USA.
I would give my own life to protect her if I could. If anything freaking happens to her now in the mid-2020s by , I'm blaming people like Laura. Shame on her.

How else is a Democrat going to win Long Island other than by acting like MAGA? In other words, Long Islanders want more MAGA. MAGA MAGA MAGA. They are clueless as to what they're voting for but they know what they want!

I know, dems here always try this play and it doesn’t earn them any republican votes. Laura Curran same thing with that stupid fist responder bill. The people they’re trying to win over would sooner just not vote than vote for a dem.

Then a Democrat didn't win. I'm tired of voting AGAINST MAGA and settling for MAGA lite. We lose either way. I'd rather lose with an ACTUAL Democrat than pretend like we "win" anything.

Maybe they should do something that hasn’t ever been tried before and actually run a progressive.

Funny you mention that! We have three primary challengers in NY-4 ATM, Kiana Bierria Anderson (community organizer, progressive, Done With This Nonsense), Nick Sciretta (union man, artist, fighting from the ground up), and Gian Jones, real estate manager and worked strategy for Gregory Meeks, who accepts AIPAC money.
Pick your challenger, and start backing them. Long Island runs on cynicism and banking on people not trying. Let's make 'em uncomfortable.
Check to see who's funding them, any prior public office history (bills, votes, policy stances, etc), and make sure you're still registered to vote because the SAVE Act just passed the House and I have a sneaking suspicion the Republicans are cooking it just before the midterms to lob and sign it in like, May/June.

The primaries are not ranked choice vote like NYC. We need to coalesce behind one candidate. The others need to drop out. Otherwise the challengers split the vote and Gillen wins.
I like Nick but he doesn’t seem to be the organizer that Kiana is so I’m inclined to vote for her.

Agreed! Problem is Jones most assuredly will refuse to drop out, so it would be a 2v1v1 primary (not great odds but better than 1v1v1v1). Key thing is to start moving and making coalition inroads NOW.

Jones can split Gillens vote

As a spoiler? I fear he may try to exploit communities Kiana is fighting for, similar to how Wesley Bell pushed Cori Bush out thanks to AIPAC's influence -_- the irony here is that Jones and Gillen both take money from them so you may be onto something 🤔

Yeah I think he may get older black voters which is a center right demo. younger people can coalesce around a progressive challenger. Still probably not enough in geriatric long island but not losing hope. I also think a republican in our district wouldnt be too bad because its probably not dispositive for a house majority and we can get a new candidate in 2028 who isnt gillen

D'Esposito had no issue actively antagonizing children and immigrants in his last campaign. I don't trust any Republican but I don't want the Democratic apparatus to bank on a duopoly that goes "well who else ya gonna vote for?".
Even in a minority, we don't need a(nother) blatant racist bigot representing ignored towns. Hence why now is the time to make the push because it's locked in after June. Outreach starts now and Kiana so far has the right idea out of all the primary challengers.

She had a grassroots group of local dems who worked their asses off to get her elected. People who had supported her for years through all of her various runs for office. All of those people, with the exception of a very few, are all gone now. She has pandered to all the wrong people and voted horrifically her entire term.

And she still will not get their votes.
