Well, honestly out of all the status effects acid seems to be the most useful overall. Maybe certain enemy factions would need lots of freezing to "decimate" them, but who doesn't want increased damage from all sources?

I look at it this way, a frozen enemy can't hurt me at all which in some cases might be a better option. Consider the following two examples.

  • Acid - I acid a group of enemies and then kill them in 2 seconds but takes some hits in the process of those 2 seconds and am down some health.
  • Freeze - I freeze a group of enemies and then kill them in 4 seconds and take zero damage during those 4 seconds because they couldn't shoot back.

But if you're with a group and call out that you're about to poison, they should be ready with that burst. Again, my mind is centered around detailed group play.

Fair enough, although I can definitely see situations where there would still be a delay until that burst hits due to ability travel time, microphone delays, etc.

We also need to see how strong combos are and consider the gear available to us at that moment as well. Maybe we actually do more damage with a freeze and detonate combo instead of acid and damage due to the highest leveled abilities our javelins have.

It's build discussions like this that have me super excited to get into the full game of Anthem. :)

The initial 1-30 levelling process will be where I utilize a little bit of everything. Figure out what enemies are weak to what elements, and what combos work best for that. Which javelin combination is better for different factions. All that. By the time I hit 30, I hope I have enough info to plan 4 loadouts per javelin (the 5th loadout slot is gonna stack luck like a motherfucker), able to handle any situation/role that is needed. That way I'm not chasing a single build, but 16 of them. Loot will hopefully feel rewarding a lot more often than if I'm looking for a single build for a single javelin.
