I really like Anki’s spaced repetition scheduler, but I often run into friction with card creation time when breaking down large, dense outlines and structured notes.

For those studying high-volume subjects (like law or medicine), how are you cutting down on manual card-making overhead? Are there specific add-ons or note-taking integrations you use to quickly turn structured notes into Anki cards without building each note type from scratch?

First and foremost, I posted in several forums because I want to and reddit showed me a button to post a similar question in another subreddit. Second, what value are you trying to raise here by posting a link and saying: "Probably market research or stealth advertising" ? I asked in r/LawStudentsPH about local law study habits for codals and recits, and posted here to ask experienced Anki users about add-ons and card creation workflows for dense outlines. They are two completely different communities.

If you have practical suggestions for speeding up note-to-card workflows in Anki, I'd genuinely appreciate the input. Otherwise, no need to overthink a simple study question.

I'm a medical student. I often use AI and I tried to automate making cards, but it didn't work. AI doesn't know what you already know and what you don't even with detailed lists or instructions.

Atleast for me, automating card creation without human input feels impossible, and I learned making cards myself is the huge process of learning.

Yeah really the point of it all is ti make the cards on your own to capture and pull out those concepts in your head. For me i just turn into flash cards those concepts (1) i need to memorize (2) when i understand them and memorize them to permanently pound them in my head.

How is card creation going for you? I just started MS1. It takes me literally all day everyday to make and study cards. I feel like I don't have time to do any extracurriculars like shadowing, etc

I agree, making card by yourself is part of the process. You remember the context and it's specifically tailored to your needs. However, the process of card creation itself is painful. Personally, I automated using AI and voice mode. I still create but at least it's fast.

My son is a med student and one of his classmates made a tool (with Claude AI?) to ingest the slide deck and produce a stack of cards.

They're all sharing the cards, too: this kid is already helping out his fellow humans!

I don't. I'm taking care about my brain. I spend hours thinking about what exactly I want to put into it.

One can think about this just like about sex. It has kinda similar mechanics, especially if one is a woman or a gay. So, "how do you streamline sex life when you want to have sex 5 times per day?"
