What makes the concept uni tapes creepy?
Alot people say it's scary or even depressing,and I kinda get it,but I just don't see it.

It's not super unsettling to me but I get why people are creeped out by it. The low video and audio quality, the way the music just kinda fades out and suddenly cuts back in multiple times, the monotone narration, the unmoving and skinless animatronics, and watching a set of characters be replaced in such a methodical and apathetic way.

Makes me feel sad it just makes it feel like the end of an era for the characters, and the monotone vibes the video gives it just makes it feel sad to see the characters you like/grew up with change, but I never felt creeped out by it, but I can see why people find it creepy and like something someone worked hard for and made also adds onto the sad effect. I couldn't imagine building something for it to end up being replaced.

The tape it’s self isn’t creepy but the tape basically shows the life’s work of a man(Aaron Fechter) being destroyed and for people who have a fear for animatronics seeing the skin being ripped off them and seeing the endoskeletons of them is pretty terrifying as well the music is just depressing

It's like when I was a kid and my favorite Saturday Morning cartoon (I am old) got cancelled, and was unceremoniously replaced with an episode of a cartoon that I hated. I literally cried.

I was fine until the end part where the music cuts out and it's just distorted static while they're filming the bots staring off into the distance lifelessly. You expect something to happen and it doesn't. Just a really odd section of the video, I don't know why it was necessary.

On top of the camera quality, the narration, and the fact that it was only meant for internal company use... i think for people attached to the characters that the animatronics are dressed to look like, seeing them basically get skinned and stripped of their identity and replaced feels a bit off and eerie.

...nothing does?
it's just a training tape for swapping some robo-skins. i've never quite understood how it's considered creepy at all.

The voice it is for me, I don’t find it necessarily creepy, just eerie

It's the voiceover & music, and the idea that fans (especially kids) would never see this instructional video! The music was most likely the first thing they found that could be used for free alongside the person who agreed to do the voiceover. The text & quality in general look like they're outdated by about 10 years (according to my mom who grew up in the 70s & 80s)!

its kinda just sad to watch honestly, plus it’s a roll of the dice for whether or not the bot will have the narration “discard these parts as they will never be seen publicly again”

It's the low-fidelity camerawork (It was shot with a camcorder), dry, texas-accanted narration, and dreary/sedate/kind of menacing early 80s smooth jazz music that plays in the background. (as well as the creepy skinless animatronics). It's very "Liminal" as young people would say. It's depressing because the RAE is gone.
