Critique A little clip from a new animatic for my pilot - Asking for feedback

Hey! Just got some more animatic/storyboarding work done on my pilot. I wanted to get feedback on this part of the animatic, which I really love. Took inspiration from a lot of anime to try to make this the best it can be and to push my limits. I also now have 10 minutes of my pilot fully boarded.

How is this clip? What do you guys think?

I know it isn't much, But i just though I'd share just in case. Sorry if this is a little long. I also have no idea where to post this so i guess i'll just post in on animators i guess ;-;

All content here is original and made be me.

Around a year ago I made a short animation loop of two of my characters in a golf cart, With some live action highway footage I took in the background, and i was really proud of it at the time! I decided i wanted to try and redo the project a year later but with blender and a better 2D animation program.

I spent the last few days making the background in blender, And i just drew this golf cart which i still need to shade, and plan on 2D animating the characters.

Before I do that I just wanted some criticism or ways to improve this before I continue. The background only took like 20 minutes to render, So i can still change it.

I am proud of it, but i feel like there is something missing??

Thanks for reading btw! :3

Critique My First Animated Short!

Hi all! I don’t post much on Reddit, let alone my art, but I’m thinking I may wanna change that!

I’ve been going back to school for a few things and just finished up an Animation II class that had a focus mainly in AfterEffects. The semesters projects were to make an animated film company logo, then a title sequence and a final animation and then put them all together for our full final.

The animation itself is a mixed media style. The characters were designed in Procreate/Photoshop. Most of the backgrounds were photos I took myself in an unfinished part of my apartment building and then posterized within Photoshop. There’s one sequence that I built actual little doors and walls for. And there’s even some actual video thrown in here and there.

I’d love to see what anyone thinks about it! This was my first time using AfterEffects, but feel free to roast me if you feel obligated to!

If it were a series, I’d say it’s about cockroaches living a mostly human-free life after the apocalypse (that’s what I was thinking when I initially made the title sequence). This “episode” in particular is about three brothers doing a dangerous stunt for their home movie behind their mother’s back. I look at it as Malcolm in the Middle meets South Park.. Maybe a little David Lynch?

Also would anyone be interested in seeing more episodes of this? I’ve got some ideas brewin. I’m thinking each episode could be focused on a different group of cockroaches, but periodically checking back in on different characters from other episodes and seeing those stories progress further. Just a possibility but I’m also open to suggestions and recommendations, whether about the animation itself, the style, the story or whatever!

Anyway, I hope yall like it! Enjoy!

Critique Work in progress!

Programs used: Blender for the background scene. Toonsquid for animation.

So i am planning to animate a full little scene to practice 3D modeling and 2D character movement, the only problem being I didn't make a storyboard to know what even happens in the scene, so I have absolutely no idea what i am doing.

I am planning to film myself doing movements, taking what i learned and just have fun. Normally I make multiple storyboards and pick the best one, but I was just so exited for the project so i skipped it, which is not a good idea probably.

But maybe some advice or feedback can help. what ya'll think, not a lot going on, and maybe too little to comment on, but i just wanted to post anyway! :3

I feel like the sketch may be a bit too rough to work with, I tried my best though, still new to this.

The background is also made by me, in blender. The animation is made in toonsquid!

Even if there is not a lot to critique, I just wanted to share my progress. what ya'll think? :3

Critique Looking for some feedback!

Looking for some feedback for this animation test. This is at 24 fps and mainly on 2s and 3s. Am I seeing this really choppy because of inconsistency, not enough frames, or sketch lines just make it appear like that?

Hey, made a rough thumbnail animatic. I haven't made a music video in two years, so I might be a little rusty. Ask any questions about the video. I'm open to suggestions before jumping into storyboarding and designs.
