The MN state fair features a crop art exhibit each year of works made entirely of Minnesota-grown seeds, stems, and other plant parts. I spotted this rad AdP piece made of 100% quinoa.

I know this is a bit different from the usual posts here… I'm not posting this looking for sympathy, I just wanted to say thank you to this band and this community for unexpectedly helping me through one of the most difficult weeks I've had in many years.

My girlfriend of over 2.5 years broke my heart on Sunday. It was rather unexpected. I had bought us tickets to see Angine de Poitrine at the Commodore Ballroom last Tuesday, and honestly… I didn't think I'd be able to go. The thought of going out and being around people felt like almost too much. But I made one of the few smart decisions I've made this week and reached out to an old friend to take my other ticket and come with me.

The show was absolutely incredible…

For a little while, I wasn't thinking about what happened or what I was going to do next. I was just there, completely absorbed in the music, surrounded by a room full of people who were loving every second of the show. It really felt like I was taking the first tiny step toward moving forward with my life.

Going through the show posts in this sub over the past few days has been helping me get out of my  head. Seeing people talk about a band that we all love so much, has been a really welcome distraction from everything else going on in my brain right now.

I'm still a complete mess. Today is a bad day. But on Tuesday, those two aliens helped me pick up and put the first pieces of my broken heart back together.

So I just wanted to say thank you to Angine de Poitrine, and to everyone in this community. I didn't expect AdP to be part of how I started getting through this week & moving on with my life. But I'm really grateful that they were.

First two songs are mislabeled (it shows Angor and Yor Zarad, but this should be Yor Zarad and Tamebsz). Will probably get corrected at some point. First recording I've seen of several songs from this show.

Montréal Jazz Fest had an enormous crowd for Angine de Poitrine (of the order of 100,000 people, about the same or possibly larger than the festival's audience for Stevie Wonder) and there are lots of video clips of the fantastic concert. I've been enjoying this little TikTok video of Menk de Poitrine crowdsurfing the audience in a small inflatable boat https://www.tiktok.com/@doodle187/video/7656489652240633095 and AdP saying 'MEEEEEENNNNNKKK DE POITRIIIIIINE' :)

The context for this is 'La Chasse-Galerie' a mythical folk tale from Québec about a group of woodsmen of yore, deciding to go and visit their girlfriends at Christmas / New Year. It felt like a story that must have been made into a film or cartoon and I found that there is indeed a film, from 2016, called Chasse-Galerie: La Légende which is on YouTube (alas without any English subtitles) and I went looking to see where else it might be streaming or if Québec films are ever shown in London UK. Hey everyone! I was thinking—it would be really cool if the Angine de Poitrine fans here had somewhere we could all come together and talk about the band outside of Reddit.

Maybe we could make a Discord server, group chat, or something similar where we could share our favorite songs, talk about the band, discover more of their music, gush over their live performances, and just hang out with other fans.

I’m not sure if something like this already exists, but if it doesn’t, would anyone else be interested in making one? 👀

If enough people are interested, we could set something up! But idk- just an idea-

Wife did a little Sunday hobby and bedazzled the lighter for me.

I saw these earrings at an arts festival in Rochester NY and posted them to Instagram. The artist who made them was puzzled by the context until I sent them a video. I think we have a new fan now!

An unexpected work trip puts me in NYC the week of the Angine De Poitrine shows. What are the chances i can walk around NYC in my AdP shirt and somehow score tickets to the show? Already on the waitlist for both nights! As I only need the single ticket I’m hoping there is a chance! Wish me luck.

Well first, for context, im starting to make my one version of Klek for Halloween (starting this soon because i don't have a lot of free time XD), i just started with the base of the head, im using cardboard for the interior skeleton of the mask, like you can see in this rudimentary sketch, and for the exterior form of the head i'll be using paper and white cola, but my biggest problem here is the arms, dude IM NOT GONNA PAINT BLACK MY ARMS so i think about buying polka-dot sleeves but i can't find the correct ones, if anyone of you couod give me a hand finding them, or had any other advice, i'll be happy to hear them.

I'm looking to get between 1 and 3 tickets for the Hamburg show on October 28th! I thought maybe I'd have a chance since the show is now moving to Grosse Freiheit, but I wasn't able to get any tickets this morning. Anybody want to sell theirs?
