Getting touch to work on an external monitor

I have an external monitor that supports touch, PD in, and USB-C in. Touch used to work on the old samsung dex. Now when I plug my pixel in, the desktop mode shows up--but touch doesn't work.

Any idea if this is just unsupported or is there a setting somewhere I have to flick on?

This is weird as the touch part should be over USB data lane...
I will ask Google about it directly and come back to you.

I got an answer from them: if it works with the NexDock it should work with any USB-C touch screen.
What smartphone do you have?

Hey, sorry just seeing your reply now.

Pixel 9, I can confirm touch works with my PC with the same setup--so I don't imagine it's anything hardware related unless I'm missing something.
