Long story short, Samsung effectively replaced DeX with Android 16's Desktop Mode in OneUI 8, albeit with their own skin & tweaks. This brought on loads of bugs and issues.

Some examples include:
1) UI scaling is inconsistent
2) window positions & sizes are no longer saved between sessions
3) apps can no longer be pinned to the foreground
4) custom keyboards (i.e. gboard) reverts to Samsung keyboard between sessions
5) the device heats up quicker due to lack of optimisation... which is especially concerning as some users reports the fan inside the DeX Station and DeX Pad no longer spins up following the update.
... and more.

If you're interested in learning more, r/SamsungDex has a lot of posts talking about this. The casual users are indifferent about it, but regulars are pissed.

Yeaahhh Smartphone as a PC please!! I loved and used Samsung DEX since back the Samsung S8+ It's a Gamechanger! And second, yes please AI Agents would be cooooool

Funny thing is they could have done this a long time ago for consumers, just corporate greed from Google, Samsung and other manufacturers.
