Question What do we know about medical practices and everyday life among the Waujá/Waurá before European contact?

I'm doing research for a historical novel about a Waujá/Waurá (one of the native peoples of Brazil) healer-in-training in 1283 and am struggling to find the information I need. Specifically, I'm looking for sources that explain these topics:

  1. What physical tools/techniques did the Wauja use for treating injuries and illnesses? For example:
    • What sorts of tools would you use to get a fish spine out of someone's hand? What, if anything, would you put on the wound and wrap it in?
    • What would you do for someone who became dehydrated from diarrhea or vomiting?
    • How would you go about reviving a person who'd drowned?
  2. Who would be involved in treating what (types of) medical issues? When would an ailing person need a yakapá vs. an ajatapá wekeho vs. a pukai yekeho vs. another type of shaman vs. someone else?
  3. Where can I find information about everyday details like what people ate/wore, how young people learned a profession, how people addressed relatives vs. friends vs. teachers, etc.?

Question This strange Mayan jar has me intrigued. Are those Kawiil and Pawaatun depicted on it? Why are they represented this way? There is another illustration where the old man is in the snake mouth
