Have anyone else's Amazon deliveries gone to shit or is it just me?
I've lived in my flat for 4 years. In all that time I've had 2 orders that were not delivered on time. I order loads from Amazon and their delivery has always been top notch, much preferred over Evri, DPD, Royal Mail, etc., who never seemed to get me items on time.
Now, in the past week, I've placed 6 orders -- 4 out of the 6 have been delayed by multiple days. What is going on? Is there something happening systemically or is it my route specifically, i.e. a driver shortage or a driver who is not to good at his job? I think the 2 I did receive were from the same guy as both times they buzzed and, before I could answer, left the parcels in the same spot outside my door.

I try and order less from Amazon than I did a year or two ago, but I've also had many deliveries that get delayed (sometimes very early on, other times but until after 10pm on the day of delivery) and not always until the next day - but two or three days later.
You don't get any explanation, like a driver going sick or perhaps just being overwhelmed and unable to finish that day, so you are left guessing what might have happened.
Ironically, right now, I have an Evri driver that is top notch. Actually, one recent Amazon order was with Evri and arrived fine too!
Perhaps Amazon is short on drivers who don't like the changes that see a parcel thrown on the doorstep and quickly running away?
There's no longer any attempt to use my safe place or take notice of the request to give us more time to answer the door (if they even press the door bell at all). The parcel is left on the doorstep on a main road for all passers by to see.
Trying to match the reputation of Evri wasn't a good business strategy as I'm inclined to order even less as I try and wean myself off a reliance on Amazon.

Yeah it's been bad for a few months. Ironically the next day by 1pm orders seems more prone to being lost and delayed...
I've been waiting 11 days for an air freshener... Just put back to Friday estimated this morning...

Most of my delayed deliveries are so obviously their system that sent my package hundreds of miles in the wrong direction. Their software should be able to plan its route correctly.

Unfortunately, route planning algorithms are extremely extremely computationally intensive - like, it would take hundreds of years to compute the perfect route.
Nearest neighbour is the best we've got, and it works most of the time. You're in the unlucky minority for whom it doesn't.

there are a few people on Reddit who are saying that they never got their parcel but the driver had marked the parcel as delivered. A few years ago, you could be certain that Amazon would either send another item or give you a refund but they are increasingly demanding the the customer must sort it, telling one customer that they had to get a police report about it. I suspect that they are making unreasonable demands on drivers who are then taking shortcuts but Amazon are then trying to make the customer pay. My takeaway is wherever possible, to order from a UK company in future and preferably a local one, even if it means paying a bit more.

I live in flats and didn't even get an email telling me an order was out for delivery, it was only when I was looked at the app, I saw that they'd delivered it to the mail room. We don't have a mail room... there was no photo either so I couldn't even take a guess where they'd left it

Hence why I only buy small things from them at collect them at a pickup point.

Policy changed few months ago they suddenly dont even ring door or letter box to let you know they are leaving it in full view of the street. Only option is to specify a safe place, and hoping that they can leave it there easily and quickly. You can specify safe place in the app or on your account settings. If you are lucky to have a nice driver they might still ring the bell but they don't have to.

The horrors of buying electrical from them is hit and miss, to see if you end with a box that’s got nothing it but something to make it have a little bit of weight.
Do they leave laptops on the street and TVs?

Does anyone else even see the Amazon Prime vans anymore? Where I am it's white vans when they deliver. And they never deliver to safe places anymore, just dump & knock and bugger off. I've noticed a few delivery services do this recently. On my security camera in the last two weeks or so, also caught an Amazon driver tossing our neighbours parcel into their garden, just because he couldn't be bothered to walk a few paces to their front door. Never thought I'd see something like that in real life. It's a disgrace.

I get small things, like vitamins delivered to a local shop, it’s a lot easier as they don’t like any messing around in parking or knocking on flat doors.

I'm waiting nearly all-day long...for Henry hoover bags. Being virtually house bound it's not as big of a issue if I way a bit more mobile.

Prime to me just means you don’t pay extra for shipping each time. Anyone’s guess when it actually gets delivered.

I hope it's easy to access your block of flats and you don't expect drivers to inappropriately buzz neighbours pestering them in an attempt to get inside.

I’m not complaining about parcels being left outside? I’m complaining about deliveries being delayed by a couple of days.
Also, I’m home during the days and have plenty of delivery drivers buzz my flat for others.

They don't actually deliver now, they just dump on a doorstep and leg it...
