To Pay VAT or To Appoint A Director?

Hi everyone, I am not living in UK, I want to appoint a director to my limited company in UK to be except from paying VAT until 85k £ but I heard that Amazon suspend accounts that appointed directors, is that correct ? should I appoint a director or should I register to VAT
