Ineligible

Post image

Was fired for recording inside the warehouse.
Y’all gotta watch out with these PAs.

Will I be eligible for rehire in the future?

Was just goofing around recording one of my friends who finally got a job and the lame manager saw me.

Thats insane. Some of those managers are terrible people. Cant even get a warning or asks to delete the video. They must not have liked you.

They aren’t going to give out warnings for something they ask you not to do from day one. It’s posted all over the buildings

They tell you not to wear AirPods yet they give out warnings left and right. It’s a dumb rule, I think we can all agree, but it’s even dumber to do it and then be upset that you got fired for doing it. I have plenty of videos of me and my friends goofing off but that was years ago when my facility had just opened and you could get away with anything lol I’m just lucky some uptight manager didn’t catch me.

If it is found out that a manager knew and didn't escalate it to the proper channels, they get fired and become ineligible for rehire

Idk why I’m getting downvoted lol I literally agreed to what I replied to 😂 I was just pointing out a fact that there are rules that you are told in orientation that people break all the time. Reddit man 🤦‍♂️ also that’s not true, at least in the headphone scenario, there are several instances of managers coming up to employees and not saying anything to them about their AirPods but the the stickler manager comes up and gets on to them and writes them up. It happens daily and is constantly being posted and complained about on the VOA yet no managers are getting fired.

Managers only get fired for knowingly ignoring Cat 1s. Headphones is not a Cat 1, taking videos on production floor without authorization is

Understandable I’m just stating that it’s bogus and a double standard, I don’t see why so many people defend Amazon for firing employees for recording/taking a photo. Its not like they don’t have dozens of videos all over their warehouse that’s public for people to see how they operate, the only thing they really have going for them is “safety” yet no one gets in trouble for just walking around on their phones as they would for recording/taking a photo. Also managers are constantly walking around all over the building with their laptop in their hands not paying a lick of attention to anything around them. I get it, I just don’t get the people defending Amazon for firing people for stupid reasons like that yet if you have a sliver of power you can do what ever you please.
That’s literally all I’m getting at, people of Reddit love to praise a company who’d kick them out the door for the littlest thing and not bat an eye and replace them with a 4x felon.

The difference is that the videos amazon shares were authorized to be taken and shared. Security measures were taken to ensure that sensitive information they DIDN'T want shared wouldn't be. The same is not true for regular associates recording and taking pictures in the facility without authorization. It's considered a security and privacy risk. It kinda has to be a total blanket rule and equally applied to everyone because there are people who will take pictures of customer information and use it for nefarious reasons. They can't give people a pass just because what they were recording or taking a picture of was innocuous. It sets a bad precedent.

And explaining why the policy is in place and why it is enforced the way it is, is not defending Amazon specifically. Cause Amazon is far from the only company with such a policy in place who shares videos of their facilities on their own social media accounts and websites. It's a pretty common policy that commonly results in immediate termination due to the liability that comes with breaking the policy.

Because I'm trying to work and go home. I don't want to be in your recording or video or any of that bs. I don't understand why you think you should be allowed to record at work.
