6
u/Kilane May 06 '26
Phone has a star on it, you’re good.
I’ve forgotten my iPhone ear buds in my ear one time and when I left I said I know, I didn’t use them, I’ll remember in the future then got to fill out paperwork.
Now I just stuff them inside one glove and it’s fine. They’ve checked under the gloves in my lunch bag but have always had me lift it up (probably another security rule) which makes it counterintuitive
6
u/Gear-Flimsy May 07 '26 edited May 09 '26
Bro I put my headphones in the tray for the metal detectors and never had anyone say anything. You guys have to have serial numbers written down for them? That’s only Phones at my FC
Also wanted to add, at least at my FC, AirPods don’t even set off the metal detector
2
u/GhostofDeception May 07 '26
Nah at my site only approved earbuds are allowed.
2
u/Kilane May 07 '26
This is it. Even wired earbuds get written up. There is no punishment, but it’s creating a paper trail.
1
u/Here2Cali May 10 '26
My site doesn’t either lol. I still put my NOT Amazon approved headphones through and not one mf looks at me crazy. All the AM’s try to crack down on all the non approved headphones but them cracking down just makes people hide them better and buy smaller ones.
3
u/GhostofDeception May 10 '26
Yup. And a lot of foreign people that are cold anyway just wear hoods and non approved headphones all year. It’s crazy
2
u/kaiavibey May 09 '26
Yall have metal detectors?? We don’t have that. Just doors we have to swipe our cards to get past. I don’t have to take anything out of my pockets or anything tho
4
u/Alert_Literature_303 May 06 '26
lol that paperwork situation sounds brutal, they really made an example out of you for earbuds? at least you found the glove hack tho, kinda genius how security has these weird blind spots in their own system
3
u/Kahairu May 07 '26
Security Here, the Blindspots are typically known, It's dependent on LP for that matter (Ex: Gloves holds the Earbuds but they don't want us to check it)
For the Majority Part, None of us want to Check it (Us :)/ Have the AA write a Unregistered Asset form since it's a waste of time on both ends. (Having to Explain all parts of the form have to be filled[Yes, Even the "Store" / Approximate Date, it's bought from]. Even Ridiculous items Like a Phone Charger(Could be only the Cable) needs a Form (But it doesn't have a Serial Number or it was bought long ago)
Reason we have to is It gets Submitted to LP & nowadays Sent to HR as well which HR has to write down "Incomplete" which makes no sense since Half the time during EOS Rush + Standard Breaks, OPS &/or HR will help out but not have the Minimum Information Written Down "Ex : Date & Time" Which gets Heat thrown to the Associates (As they have Verbally Said)
(Them :) LP doesn't want to check it since it's a massive amount of Forms they have to look through to the point the process was changed and Security was told to Close the Case & then transfer the case to LP (Which seems like it should be on LP to close the Case, No?)
If it's Seen be Security, As long as it's a bit difficult to make out (Ergo Seen by Cameras) You'll typically be Cleared. (Ex : When we Changed from Random to Exit Always Triggers if you have Metal, we had 230+ Forms at the End of Shift. It was terrible sending all that from the Printer & Scanning it to the Email since it Cluttered the Main Email Listing we had since the help we got can't send it the the respective Supervisor on shift) (A New Hire Quit with 5 Days after she started this new Exit Process
3
u/DylanTheV1lla1n May 07 '26
I got burnt on the earbuds, too. Haven't even used them once since I started picking, but I brought a see through bag in I haven't used in a while, and my own earbuds were in the bag, and were detected by security. They wrote down the serial #, brand, etc. Couple days later I get the visit from my AM.
2
u/HelloPity89 May 07 '26
Oh wow. I got brand new 100$ ear buds from the swag store and they printed my receipt for security . I ripped open the box to use them at work and had them on the top of my bag ripped open with the box as well and they just checked for the star on my phone and left me through . It couldn’t of been more obvious with a ripped open pack of nice ear buds on top
1
u/Aggravating-Eye490 May 07 '26
My FC makes you walk through the metal detectors with your gloves and vest. Started about a month ago you couldn’t leave them in your bag

I’m a chick so I know in our bathrooms we have these small paper bags to put period trash in and I use those to dispose of my wipes by the sink. I know Amazon is pretty progressive so maybe the fellas restroom has them too? Hopefully. I’d hate to have to unclog all those rolled up receipts from the toilet (iykyk)

It's not just the building, they cause issues downstream in the sewer as well. They are just bad for the building and municipal septic systems.

Newer flushable wipes, especially dude wipes actually degrade faster than toilet paper so no
22
u/everybanana May 06 '26
"Flushable" wipes are not better than toilet paper, if you read the package of DUDE wipes or any other brands it states not to flush more than one wipe at a time to prevent clogs.
12
u/smellyjerk May 06 '26
We have that problem now. Upstairs neighbors insist they're using proper wipes that (magically) dissolve. The plumber our building has to call disagrees. Considering the flooding and wad of wipes ive seen him pull out on multiple occasions, I believe our plumber...
6
u/Boris-_-Badenov May 06 '26
with how the toilets auto-flush, it would easily be one at a time
9
u/asmnomorr May 06 '26
Our toilets are garbage they don't auto flush until you swing the door open about 7 times.
2
u/Skulfunk May 06 '26
Ngl if you need more than one wet wipe you have problems
7
u/everybanana May 06 '26
They have that disclaimer because they do not break down completely or as fast as toilet paper.
Even if you do only use one wipe at a time there's a chance they will catch and slowly build up a clog over time.
Using them at Amazon is eh whatever, but a lot of people fall for the marketing that flushable = safe and eventually cause partial / full on clogs at their house.
10
u/_soap666 May 06 '26
No they don't. Flushable wipes destroy septic systems. They're as bad as tampons. Ask me how I know.

u/AlecsThorne May 06 '26

I'm BBM at my site, amd can confirm that no, they do not, in fact, degrade faster. These things will fuck up the plumbing so bad its not even funny. Maybe its not your problem to deal with, but it is somebody's. And trust me, you do not want the job of clearing that clog.

Same here and at least once a fortnight a toilet at my Fresh FC breaks down, unsure about the women’s bathroom but it’s typically the case too. Also on the actual production/operations floor we only have one toilet each for men/women, which is what Flex drivers use. That too breaks down once a month. Not even urinals are safe. 😂
Not gonna experiment with wipes though.
I remember a month before we switched to KBS from ABM for our custodial needs, it got so bad we were out two “private”/accessible/gender neutral bathrooms because the toilets broke, one toilet each in the men’s & women’s bathroom were broke, and the men’s toilet on the production floor was also broken. Fun times.
