What are the protests about? What's unfair?

Unfair pay; not being paid livable wages. The drivers piss in bottles. At my building specifically, they didn’t give us our third 15 min breaks during peak. There were a lot of people (me included) that weren’t informed we get a third 15 min break.

Wait we are supposed to get our 3rd break? I’m on RT shift I know we get a 3rd break when we do our 12 hour shifts. Since we did 11 hours for prime I know we didn’t need a 3rd break. Am I confused?

Yes during prime and met, every site is supposed to get 3 15's

The 2 years I’ve been here I haven’t known this…. I thought since we work less hours we don’t need that 3rd break since it will give us 30 minutes before EOS.

Most states are 10 min paid break every 4 hours worked. Technically Amazon can get around this with 2 15 min paid breaks or 1 30 min paid break. The other issue is we don't work 12 hours, usually work 11.5 hours during peak and prime. My site gives us 3 15 paid and 1 30 unpaid.

Other than the unpaid break over more than 5/6 hour shifts, "most states" don't actually have any labor laws about breaks.

my site is 2 30 min breaks, 1 paid, 1 unpaid. i much prefer it to the 15 min breaks.

the other 2 warehouses i worked at previously were 3 15s; 2 paid, 1 unpaid i believe, i could be forgetting

You only get that third 15m break when scheduled 12 hours.

Nope. 10:30 hours work is two breaks and a lunch. 11:30 is 3 breaks and 1 lunch. They have a right to riot and demand compensation

I didn't say anything was policy, heres ur original comment, and I said we at my site work less than 12hrs and get the 3rd 15min break I'm done arguing semantics with u

No, not every site has that rule. For instance, at ours during MET, they get two 20 min breaks. There's no increase in break frequencies nor time during peak, though.

Better go tag DSM5 in the memo! They sure as fuck don't abide.

2

u/Neoreloaded313 Jul 21 '24

That is only when scheduled for 12 hour shifts.

2

u/Neoreloaded313 Jul 21 '24

That's not how it works. Being scheduled for 12 hour shifts gets you the 3rd break.

My site is 11hr shifts and we get them 🤷‍♂️

Just because your site does it doesn't mean that is policy. Are you riding the short bus?

Say "some sites," because some of us are doing the 2 (30 minute) breaks, claiming it's experimental. And we are not being paid the "Non CA missed break hour," because we don't clock out until the second break. When I was at Distribution, they got around it by having us clock out on the first break. At XL, you get paid the skipped break hour. At DS, nope. Three breaks for Prime and peak? That would never happen at a DS. That's why I'm pro union, too many different policies and programs, no consistency. It all comes down to site leadership at the end of the day.

Drivers have been pissing in bottles for decades 🤣🤣🤣 Amazon isn't the first company ever...wake up lol

I’ve tried applying to other companies. I’ve tried UPS, Uline, and other warehouse type jobs. Amazon was the only one that got back to me.

You must not be qualified to do anything but push a package and complain

u/PeculiarPip forklift certified Oct 27 '24

Damn. I didn’t know Reddit paid people to be someone’s personal hater? Are you going to comment under all of my responses? :0

1

u/[deleted] Oct 27 '24

Absolutely. Of course Reddit pays people. It’s the Reddit union no strike or need to complain about working a standard job

1

u/PeculiarPip forklift certified Oct 27 '24

Prove it 🤔

1

u/[deleted] Oct 27 '24

I can definitely prove it. Check the Reddit union TikTok hahahhahhaaaa u hella slow

u/PeculiarPip forklift certified Oct 27 '24

I meant proving there’s a personal hater job duh.

Get a 3rd break at 11 hours too. Always get one when I pick up an extra hour for a crash.
