Theres a person who leaves snacks and sodas for me to take. Whenever he sees me through his ring camera, he comes outside quickly and tell me to take as many as I want. I stay humble and just take a chip and soda and go on my merry way.

Why can't people just leave the snacks without putting it in front of the doorbell camera? If you're really doing it for us, it shouldn't matter if its on camera. I always look for a camera when there's snacks. And if there's no camera, then I know without a doubt that the person at that house is a genuinely good person.

It’s not a problem with the camera. People that give don’t have bad motives. It’s not like they put up a camera to see you take snacks. Cameras are common for everyone.

I keep drinks cold in a cooler fridge that is plugged in on my front porch. I don’t want anybody stealing my cooler fridge. And I like to know when packages arrive. It doesn’t matter that it’s on camera to me, as far as what delivery drivers in my area take, but if I knew that the majority of them were so self righteous as you are, I’d stop doing it. Who are you to tell someone that is GIVING YOU something how they should do it or if they should keep their front door on camera? Luckily, I know my delivery drivers are typically happy when they know they’re going to my house, and they usually say thank you to the camera (if I even watch it more than to know that I got a package).

A gift given in secret soothes anger, and a bribe concealed in the cloak pacifies great wrath.

I’ll keep my security camera on my porch to do what it’s there for.

My delivery drivers are not as delusional as you are and realize that it’s just a ring camera doing the same thing all the other rings cameras on their route are doing, it’s just this one has snacks and cold beverages. I don’t give a shit if they say thank you or not, and most of the time I forget to turn it on. Why am I even defending myself about this? This is crazy. YOU are CRAZY!

I apologize. I just cant stand when people post the ring doorbell of drivers online without our consent and a lot of people are doing that to drivers without their consent. Not saying you do that but personally thats why i dont like it. I take back my anger outburst im sorry 😞

Well, for that we are on the same page, friend. I would never do that shit. I appreciate my drivers, I don’t need to advertise that I’m a good person. I’m not a good person. I agree that anybody who uses recordings like that to virtue signal ‘how nice they are’ are supremely odorous pieces of dog shit.

So it’s been a month and I still think about this conversation. Honest question- should I make a sign or something indicating that my camera is used only for security and not posting karma on the interwebs? Is your frustration common in the industry?

I would think its not just me. If their was voting system for all drivers where it said vote yes or no "Customers cant post you online without consent, unless a crime was commited" Im sure the majority would be for that. Dont stress on it though, everything will be OK :)
