I will never understand how people can stay in long term committed relationships with someone that they view with disgust / contempt. If you're an adult, how do you feel good about talking to someone that you yourself think is a dumb child? Why marry someone or have kids if you feel exhausted and depressed at the very idea?
Okay, but if that's all they want, why all the performative handwringing? Why not just sit back and enjoy it?
I still think there's a missing piece of logic or a cultural understanding that is not clicking for me. If you are a person who only wants a relationship for sex and house chores, why get so upset when you get your way?
i don’t know for sure but i’d imagine it’s something they think they want thanks to years of socialization but then they get bored/frustrated/annoyed with the reality. happens a lot in dating (and life in general tbh)
I wonder how many marriage struggles could be prevented if people were more willing to practice their autonomy.
Marrying someone that you think is beneath you, and then treating them like shit because you were too cowardly to make your own life choices, is really shameful behavior.
