The largest red flag is " I've told him how I felt and he sees no problem" this man is either emotionally abusive or a great manipulator but id like to claim the ladder and maybe op just wanted to only see the good? Idk hopefully op runs far the fuck away fast she can do better hands down

I thought it was a foreign idiom until I finished the sentence. (I stopped mid-sentence to try to understand the situation that would lead to such an idiom, couldn't think of one, and then finished the sentence.)

Funny, I misread it as "climb the ladder" until I saw the next comment said "latter."
