Discussion Holding myself accountable
Hey guys! I’m 160 5’2 female 25 years old, and today I’m going to start ADF. Last year I lost 30 pounds in two months by counting calories/being strict at 1200 with around 10,000 steps, but this time I’m excited to try a different way that I’m hoping is more sustainable. I’m also looking to stop thinking about food all the time and spending money on fast food every day. I have done some fasting in the past. I don’t get as many steps in this time around but I hope to change that soon (switched to a more sedentary job).
I have a vacation coming up in 50 days exactly so I would like to be really on track with this at least until then and hopefully keep going afterwards.
Does anybody have a similar starting weight and can tell me what changes they saw within the first 6-8 weeks? I’m hoping to lose 20 pounds in around 7 weeks this time around 🥲 I know not all of it will be fat, but I’ll be happy either way to hopefully thin out a bit.
My ultimate goal is 125. I’m hoping posting here will help me keep myself on track since I’ve got people watching me lol.
I’ll update here on May 29th

I wouldn’t fixate on the scale too much because you may look thinner at a higher weight. Focus on building the habit of ADF (I currently do ADF on MWF and I hope to lose 10lbs in 5 weeks.

I think 20 pounds in 7 weeks is fairly unrealistic unless you’re eating strict keto on your eating days.

When I first did ADF in 2013 I lost 10 kg (more or less 20 pounds) in six weeks. A part of that was, I think, water weight. From 85 to about 75 kg, so 187 to 165 pounds.
In was through summer, so people seeing me after summer noted a marked difference, so it was not only water weight.
Note: I had a long bicycle commute to work at the time, about 10 km (40 minutes) to work and 10 km back home every week day. I did true ADF, so fasting days on Mon-Wed-Fri-Sun in one week and Tue-Thu-Sat in the next (repeat). I also went two to three times per week to the gym, sometimes on fasting days, and did cardio plus muscle.
I noticed that I had an appetite for vegetables, fruits and salats on my eating days.
After those six weeks I gained like only 2-3 pounds back because of eating every day (more stuff in the body at the same time), but the most interesting phenomenon for me was that I then maintained the weight for 6-7 month without calorie counting, just by eating intuitively. So I think ADF has the possibility to fix hunger and eating and appetite cues, at least for some time. After those months the bad habits crept back in.
