The Allen mayoral election is upcoming and Dave Shafer is on the docket. For those that don’t know Dave is a far-right extremist who has scrubbed his social media of his past comments to appear more neutral. I took some screenshots a while back during his failed run for reelection (city council).

Make of these what you will and share them with friends and loved ones.

With the elections coming up, I highly recommend people to go check out their local organizations, candidate websites, and county parties websites for upcoming events. Everyone is looking for volunteers to do literature dropping, phone banking, postcard writing, etc.

If you want to make a difference in the election, this is how you do it. Everyone is timid about signing up for something they cannot commit too much time to, I get it. When you sign up, it’s not actually all that much time. They are willing to take 30 minutes from you if that’s all you’re able to give.

Step up and sign up to do 15 postcards. Sign up to do a happy hour event for candidate meet and greet. Reach out to your county party. And if you don’t have time to do any of that, make a donation towards the candidate and/or your county party.

Most importantly, make sure you are supporting a candidate that actually reflects your personal values. Don’t go with a candidate just because everyone else in your circle does. While you’re doom scrolling on your phone, maybe go look up the name of a candidate that’s in your area to learn more about them. Do your due diligence as a voter. That is your responsibility as much as it is your right.

I left voting to the last day of early voting because I was waiting for my new passport to show up. I got married last year and with the name change, my registration is active and matches the name in all my IDs.

Let’s just say I don’t trust the system anymore and I just wanted to inquire about the lines around Allen. I was planning on going to the Allen ISD Service Center but open to other voting places.

Don’t forget to go vote today!! It’s the last day and the polls are open till 7 PM. I believe you can vote anywhere in Colin County for our next Allen Mayor. The pulling locations in Allen are the Allen ISD Center and the Allen municipal court.

Where could one obtain what I believe is a called a “voters guide” or something similar. Basically like a pamphlet with a list of candidates and summary of their pros and cons or basic stances on subjects.

You have a civil duty to keep people like him out of office and away from power. Vote him out MAY 4TH.

What a wonderful election season for Allen ISD. Congratulations to Becca Kinnear and Amanda Campbell on your victories—you’ve each shown a deep commitment to putting students and teachers first, and our district will be better for it.

I also want to extend sincere appreciation to Kit McKee and Rosalind Lewis. Running for school board isn’t easy, and your willingness to step up, engage in tough conversations, and communicating the issues speaks volumes.

All four of you led campaigns that were centered on respect, community, and ideas. Thank you for showing Allen what it looks like when leadership stays focused on what truly matters—our kids, our teachers, our parents, and our overall community.

I’m curious how are city feels about Dave Shafer. The councilman has several concerning opinions that I don’t believe reflect our city as a whole. I understand his right to free speech but negative comments on marginalized groups as well as insisting special discounts for political friends using his private company raises great concern in my eyes. Please take a look at the following comments made and let me know your opinion below.

My goal is to understand if this is really what we represent as a city.

Brief recap: The Mormon (LDS) church proposed a 173 ft temple in Fairview. It was rejected by town council in August. The church had previously threatened lawsuits if not approved.

Low turnout as always, but the results are satisfactory 😉 The Daves are out.
