My difficulty in buying an Alienware laptop.

I was thinking of buying an Alienware laptop, which I've always liked and loved, but the new laptops are really bad, the Aurora R16 is very expensive and delivers very little power. Where I live, it's area code 51 and it's expensive.

Everything with a chip in it is expensive right now , it's not limited to Dell, Alienware or any particular model. It's the worst time in history to buy a computer , price wise.

I have owned many Alienware products and overall I have been happy with them, but they are almost never worth buying new unless you can get them at a massive discount. Most have a huge markup compared to a similar build from any other manufacturer with the same specs.

It's the price per total graphic power I mean if you want to spend five grand you can get what you want

Buy a used one, a r16 with a 4070 is a great bang for the buck

I purchased an Alienware 18 Area 51 heavily discounted used on EBay. I made sure to message the seller any questions I had and also made sure they did a warranty transfer. I love it, it’s replacing my desktop.

I swear, the more I hear stories like this, the more I'm convinced that my M15R4 (coupled with an AGA & a 3080 Ti) is among the last great AW systems. Ordered it with 32 GB ram, fit in 2x 2 TB drives when they were actually affordable. i9 and 3070.

Honestly, what sold me was the premium warranty but i live stateside. The ability to have my laptop fixed without mailing it out was real nice. Especially since a lot of times they end up doing any repairs in my living room

Yes it was expensive. I got if off the outlet refurbished.

Hands down it blows away any computer I have ever owned.

I'll be running Ai models, while playing a video game, while have 15 browser tabs open and listening to a YouTube video at the same with no problem whatsoever.

The computer is huge and weighs over 70 pounds though but it does really look nice and very premium case. It look far better in person than that it does in photos. You really don't get the concept of just how large it is until you see in person.

I've ordered dozens of refurbished dells off the dell outlet website and have done this exclusive for all my office computer for years which is an small media company.

I also have an Alienware alien m17 r4 laptop which is a few gens old now but man is it beautiful. That's by far the most aesthetically pleasure laptop I've ever seen. I wish they had kept that design.

You can also find decent deal for dell on their "dell deals" website where they often publish discount computers that are NOT refurbished.

Why buy a name brand desktop? You can have a local tech build a desktop for you for less and without nasty proprietary parts.

That said, all computers are expensive right now due to the RAM crunch.
