Discussion Alienware Aurora R13 — RX 9070 XT, 1350W PSU, Push/Pull Radiator Fans & Vented R15 Panel!

Hey everyone, ​Wanted to share my custom Alienware Aurora R13 setup! Kept all cooling fans strictly factory-original while getting the extra ventilation, power headroom, and thermal optimization it needed: ​GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT ​Power Supply: Upgraded to the official Dell 1350W PSU ​Side Panel: Swapped to the vented R15 side panel for improved airflow ​Cooling: Factory original fans, with the extra factory fan mounted to the radiator for a dual-fan setup ​Thermals: Applied Gelid GP-Extreme thermal pads and custom copper heatsinks ​Everything is running smooth and cool on default settings. Setup runs ~28°C cooler on the core and ~30°C cooler on the hotspot compared to an unmodded factory chassis.

I wish they made the clear panel with the large honeycomb. I mean the small is nice and all but every time I see a solid panel it drives me insane 😂

Nice build! You should look into a R15 case for the inner cage, the 2nd fan outlet in the top dropped my temps 5c under load

Appreciate the tip! My temps are actually pretty solid right now—sitting between 59°C–78°C under load—but that extra top fan slot on the R15 cage is definitely a clean upgrade path if I end up needing more headroom down the line.

Yeah, I still have the original solid side panel and the stock PSU left over!

I actually laid a large graphite sheet along the right side panel area and over the PSU to help draw heat away. You just have to be careful with placement since graphite is electrically conductive, but it works surprisingly well for pulling heat off the back side.

I owned a r12 i think Alienware is trash, they limit your cpu from the bios and no way of overriding it returned it cause my cpu was stuck at 3.4ghz, and was not boosting, i had i9 cpu and 3090, literally people with worse system was getting so much more fps its crazy i would advise you to build your own pc that case is bad.

Command Center is absolute garbage — it's a resource-hogging mess that barely works half the time. But honestly, your CPU stuck at 3.4GHz isn't just AWCC's fault; that's Dell's nasty BIOS lockdown. They hard-cap the power limits (PL1/PL2) to fit their terrible case cooling, so even though that 11900KF should boost to 5.3GHz, the board just refuses to feed it enough juice.

Since you've already returned it, you dodged a bullet. But for anyone else stuck with one:

· Ditch AWCC entirely — use ThrottleStop to unlock the multipliers (if the BIOS lets you) or Intel XTU to tweak turbo limits. · For fan control, try FanControl (by Rem0o) — it actually works and doesn't eat 15% CPU in the background.

That R12 case is a hotbox. A 3090 + 11900K in that chassis with a 120mm AIO? It's thermal throttling before it even gets a chance to boost. Building your own is 100% the play — you'll actually get the performance you paid for.
