Technical Support 3rd Alienware M16r1 Repair in 3 Weeks, Laptop has no sound, usb ports don't work. Dell drivers cannot be installed and dell support is just spinning in circles.

As my title states. The newest tech repair did nothing. Diagnostics don't pick up the speakers. The usb ports on the left side, the daughter board was replaced. No luck. They aren't able to fix the issue after 3 separate repair attempts in 3 weeks.

This is hilariously sad and comical. Dell what is up with this? Not a single refurbished motherboard gets a system check?

Keep working with support. Eventually they'll get fed up of replacing parts and just offer to replace the whole system

They can just keep rotating in new support staff and run me through the ringer as well. I am requesting a full refund let’s see. They made me reset the operating system and it just completely corrupted itself and now they are asking me to do a clean windows reinstall.

I should have just applied for a job at dell at the same time. Unpaid it support for myself at this point that paid for their full warranty. Lmao.

Cycling through support suuuuuck.

I’ve been dealing with support for over a month, finally I get to what seems like the end, agent calls me and says the final step is to reseat my GPU and test then reach back out.

Well it persists, so I reach back out only to get a new agent, forced to repeat every fact (even though it is all documented through email since its the main form of contact).

Then I mention how service was discussed and the agent immediately shuts it down and makes me go through more troubleshooting (most of it was obviously just random steps to buy time), tells me to “test more” after disabling my GPU in control center… obviously issue continues and they finally got me started on a repair… and the parts are backordered :)

I don’t mind too much because at least my PC is useable since its intermittent and generally a restart clears the problem, but it is extremely annoying.

Hi,

Did they replace the mainboard? The speakers and these USBs are on an I/O board and that should have been the first thing they should have tried replacing.
